DHAKA, (DNA) – A tragic traffic accident over a week ago has triggered mass protests by students who have taken to the streets of Bangladesh’s capital to demand that authorities improve road safety.The demonstrations were sparked by the deaths of two students who were reportedly killed by a speeding bus in Dhaka on July 29. Protests kicked off in the crowded capital after a privately-operated bus ran over a group of students, killing two and injuring several others, eyewitnesses told Bangladesh’s state-run news agency, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha.

Japan marks 73rd anniversary of atomic bombing of Hiroshima
TOKYO, (DNA) – Japan marked the 73rd anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima today. Tens of thousands of people gathered to honour the victims at an annual memorial ceremony held in the city. They included representatives from 85 countries, as well as survivors of the bombing.A minute of silence was observed at 8:15 AM local time, the exact time the bomb was dropped by the US on 6th of August in 1945.
