WASHINGTON, (DNA) – US President Donald Trump on Friday cited “an unusual and extraordinary threat” from North Korea s nuclear arsenal to extend sanctions on Kim Jong Un s regime, despite touting the success of a historic summit earlier this month.After flying back to Washington last week, boasting of success, the US leader tweeted: “There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea.”

UN slams Trump over child detentions

GENEVA: (DNA) – The United Nations (UN) on Friday acknowledged Washington’s decision to stop separating migrant families at the US-Mexico border but insisted that detaining children with their parents was not the solution.“Children should never be detained for reasons related to their or their parents’ migration status,” UN rights office spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani told reporters in Geneva.

AMSTERDAM: (DNA) –  Children who listen to music through headphones may be at greater risk of noise-related hearing loss, a Dutch study suggests.Researchers examined hearing test results for 3,316 children ages 9 to 11. They also asked parents about hearing complaints from their children, how often kids used portable music players and how high they typically set the volume.

Textile exports increase to $1.204 billion in May

KARACHI: (DNA) –  Textile exports clocked in at $1.204 billion for May, up 28.4 percent year-on-year and 4.8 percent month-on-month, official data showed on Wednesday.Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data showed that textile exports amounted to $938 million in May last year and $1.148 billion in April.Analysts attributed a nominal sequential surge in exports to the part release of exporters’ stuck refunds. The last government disbursed refunds worth Rs31.5 billion in the last week of May.
