KUNMING (China) JUNE 11 (DNA) – Pakistan joined the regional trade group here, capital of China’s Yunnan province to develop cooperative partnership in business and trade, through expo and a consolation mechanism. The group, included India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand , Vietnam, Indonesia, besides China. The group is participating in a week-long mega event (South Asian-Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF), being held here at on Monday.

BIRMINGHAM, JUN 08 (DNA) – Pakistan put their miserable hammering by arch-rivals India behind them with a shock 19-run win over South Africa at Edgbaston on Wednesday that kept their Champions Trophy semi-final hopes alive. Just three days after suffering a humiliating 124-run defeat by title-holders India at Edgbaston in their opening group match, with former skipper Shahid Afridi among those slamming a “clueless” display, Pakistan s return to the Birmingham ground saw them make a mockery of the rankings which had them bottom and South Africa top in this eight-team one-day international tournament.

China lauds Pakistan’s efforts for smooth implementation of CPEC projects

BEIJING, JUN 07 (DNA) – While appreciating Pakistan government’s efforts in building China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, China Tuesday reiterated it would work with Pakistan to push forward smooth progress on the corridor to bring more economic benefits for the two people as well as the entire region. “We appreciate and applaud Pakistan’s efforts it put in during building of the CPEC which has now entered a stage of implementation with the concerted efforts of China and Pakistan,” Spokesperson of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hua Chunying said during her regular press briefing held here.

Anil Kapoor says he still feels protective towards son

NEW DELHI, JUN 06 (DNA) – Actor-filmmaker Anil Kapoor says he feels protective towards his son Harshvardhan as he is still naive in Bollywood. The actor spoke about his son, who made his debut in Bollywood with Mirzya last year, in an interview in GQ India’s June 2017 issue, read a statement. “I’m protective because I feel Harsh is still naive. Like for example, he’ll say no to very big film-makers. I hope they understand that he really wants to work with them and means well, but he’s not ready to do those films. I wish he’d at least spoken to me before… But it’s fine… That’s his decision,” Anil said.

LONDON, JUN 06 (DNA) – London Mayor Sadiq Khan accused Donald Trump on Monday of seeking to divide communities in Britain after the US president criticised his leadership following a terror attack in the city. “Some people thrive on feud and division. We are not going to let Donald Trump divide our communities,” Khan told. He also told : “I just haven’t got time to respond to tweets from Donald Trump. “Honestly I’ve got better and more important things to focus on.”

NEW DELHI, JUN 05 (DNA) – The stars, who have starred in Humara Dil Aapke Paas Hai and Taal, are teaming up for for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s upcoming movie, Fanney Khan. Movie’s co-producer, Prernaa Arora, told Mumbai Mirror that “We go on the floors by the year-end. It is a happy, slice-of-life film. We approached Aishwarya for the part and are glad she agreed to come on-board.”

World’s first driverless rail transit system unveiled in China

BEIJING, JUN 04 (DNA) – A Chinese railcar-maker has unveiled a new product called Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) in Zhuzhou, Hunan province of China, and the bus-rail combo rapid transit system is expected to speed up city’s public transportation. According to the railcar-maker CRRC, the ART uses rubber wheels on a plastic core instead of steel wheels. It’s also equipped with the company’s copyrighted technology to automatically guide the vehicles. It carries the advantages of both rail and bus transit systems and is agile and non-polluting.

Whether it is the winds of fortune or poor sailing of his opponents, Emmanuel Macron is the new French president. Surprisingly, Macron did quite well in the second round and defeated Le Pen with a clear margin. Although his win was evident right from the very beginning of the election campaign, however, the margin with which he defeated his rival unequivocally speaks volumes for the disapproval of Le Pen’s ideas of France’s pulling out of the European Union.

KABUL, MAY 31 (DNA) – At least 40 people were killed or wounded Wednesday as a massive blast ripped through Kabul’s diplomatic quarter, shattering the morning rush hour and bringing carnage to the streets of the Afghan capital. Bodies littered the scene and a huge plume of smoke rose from the area which houses foreign embassies. However, it was not immediately clear what the target was. Witnesses described dozens of cars choking the roads as wounded survivors and panicked schoolgirls sought safety, with men and woman struggling to get through security checkpoints to search for loved ones.
