FRANKFURT AM MAIN: (DNA) –  Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay a state visit to Germany this week as the two countries seek to rebuild ties after a series of sharp spats but the controversial trip is likely to be overshadowed by protests.

Foreign Minister participates in high level event on action for peacekeeping

NEW YORK, (DNA) – Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi today participated in the High Level Event on Action for Peacekeeping (A4P), hosted by the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.Speaking on the occasion, the Foreign Minister paid tribute to peacekeepers who were serving in volatile environments to complete their mandates.  He also highlighted that Pakistan, as a top troop contributing country to UN peacekeeping, had provided over 200,000 troops in 46 peacekeeping mission since 1960s, 156 of our bravest had given the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of peace.

Saudi Arabia launches high-speed rail project

RIYADH, (DNA) – : Saudi King Salman on Tuesday inaugurated a high-speed railway linking holy cities Makkah and Medina, described by local officials as the biggest transportation project in the region.The Haramain High Speed Rail system will transport Muslim pilgrims, as well as regular travellers, 450 kilometres (280 miles) between the two cities via the Red Sea port of Jeddah in two hours.
