President Mamnoon meets Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of SCO summit

BEIJING, JUN 10 (DNA) – President of Pakistan Mr. Mamnoon Hussain met his Russian counterpart Mr. Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting.The Leaders discussed matters of mutual interest including bilateral, contemporary regional and global issues.Both leaders agreed that relations have strengthened. Trade, energy, security, culture, education and people-to-people contact were identified as avenues for enhanced future cooperation.

WAPDA chairman suggests to give Kalabagh Dam control to Sindh

ISLAMABAD, JUNE 09 (DNA) – To address the misgivings of Sindh, the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) chairman has suggested that the operative control of the Kalabagh dam should be handed over to the province.According to him, no work on Kalabagh dam will start unless harmony is achieved among the provinces, and if the dam built, then Sindh shall have its operational control in order to address its uncertainties over use of water.

Spain, Panama arrive in Russia for World Cup

MOSCOW, (DNA) – Former World Cup winners Spain and debutant Panama arrived in Russia for the 21st edition of the global football spectacle.The pair and Saudi Arabia complete a trio of teams to have made it to Russia one week before next Thursday’s kickoff in Moscow.Spain won the World Cup in 2010 and are one of the tournament’s favourites. Companies from 15 countries to join transport exhibition in Baku

BAKU, JUNE 07 (DNA) – As many as 85 companies from 15 countries will take part in the 17th Caspian International Transport, Transit and Logistics Exhibition, scheduled for June 11-13.Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade announced this at a press conference dedicated to the exhibition in Baku on June 7.He stressed that this exhibition is the largest in the region and is important for Azerbaijan.
