Trade expo Indonesia 2019 all set to open on Oct 16

ISLAMABAD, OCT 14 (DNA) -The 34th Trade Expo Indonesia 2019 (TEI) is all set to open on Oct 16 in Bumi Serpong Damai, Banten, near Jakarta, offering tremendous opportunities of enhancing business-to-business and trade relations between Pakistan and Indonesia.
A delegation of 34 Pakistani traders and business representatives will represent the country at the mega event in order to explore various areas of mutual trade, cooperation and opportunities.
Besides Pakistan, many other countries are also sending their business leaders, chambers representatives to utilize the event to seek access to other countries’ markets.

Travel ban lift: Fly to Beirut for as low as Dh1,023

UAE lifted the Lebanon travel ban this week.

Etihad Airways has announced that it will increase capacity between Abu Dhabi and Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, by upgrading the current daily Airbus A321 service to a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner from October 27, 2019.The step up from narrow-body to wide-body aircraft follows yesterday’s announcement by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the immediate removal of a travel ban to Lebanon for UAE citizens. Lifting this restriction, imposed in February 2016, is expected to spur a significant increase in demand for travel between the two capitals.

Carpooling to help residents offset toll in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi (DoT) introduced a carpooling service to make lives much easier for commuters.Residents are hailing the carpooling facility by the Department of Transport – Abu Dhabi (DoT), especially with the toll system getting operational from Tuesday. Mobeen Jawaid, a QA/QC engineer who travels from Mussafah to Dubai five times a week, feels that carpooling will help reduce pollution as there will be less vehicles on the roads.

PM Iran returns after a day-long visit to Iran

PALSP welcomes curbing smuggling of Steel from Iran

ISLAMABAD, Oct 13 (DNA): Pakistan Association of Large Steel Producers (PALSP) welcomes the effective measures taken by the Pakistan Customs Authorities at Taftan border to curb the menace of smuggling of Steel
from Iran to Pakistan. Chairman FBR and the Quetta Customs Collectorate has taken these
measures on the orders of the Prime Minister Imran Khan who has issued strict directives for curbing the menace of smuggling, which is destroying the local industry.

Iran welcomes Pakistan’s efforts for de-escalate in region

Afghanistan shuts down its Consulate in Peshawar

ISLAMABAD, OCT 12 (DNA) –The Afghan govt has closed down its Consulate in Peshawar after a dispute about a market in Peshawar.

According to Foreign Office of Pakistan, the Afghan decision is unfortunate and it is hoped that the Afghan authorities will review their decision.

The Foreign Office further said “We reject insinuations contained in the statement issued by the Afghan Foreign Ministry regarding a market in Peshawar. It is deeply regrettable that a distorted and misleading account of the issue and related events has been presented”.

JUI-F partners are divided over Azadi March: FM

 

MULTAN, OCT 12 (DNA) – Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has stated that opposition parties are divided on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) proposed “Azadi March” and sit-in in Islamabad by the end of this month.

Talking to media after performing ground-breaking of various uplift projects in NA-156 constituency in Shah Rukn-e-Alam area, Qureshi said Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif had opposed the march during party’s meeting in Lahore, saying that he (Shehbaz) was not in favour of a sit-in.

PML-N holds party meeting after Nawaz’s go-ahead for Azadi March

He said Spain, Pakistan relations have witnessed marked improvement over the years adding Spain happens to be the 8th largest trading partner of Pakistan.

Number of tourists both Spanish coming here and Pakistanis flying to Spain has increased manifold and the interest in everything between the two countries grows by the minute.
