ISLAMABAD, MAR 28 (DNA) –High Commissioner of Mauritius Rashidally Soobadar has said his country was ready to share its success story especially in the tourism field with Pakistan as Mauritius is ranked prominent among those countries that fetch huge influx of tourists every year.

Fake accounts case: IHC grants Zardari, Talpur pre-arrest bails

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – The Islamabad High Court on Thursday granted pre-arrest bail to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Asif Ali Zardari and Faryal Talpur in the case pertaining to money laundering of billions through fictitious bank accounts.PPP’s top leadership, Omni Group’s Anwar Majeed and his son Abdul Ghani Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairperson Hussain Lawai, Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza are among those being investigated in a case related to money laundering of billions through fictitious bank accounts. The matter is also being heard by the Supreme Court.

Brexit still deadlocked as UK Parliament rejects alternative plans

London (DNA) – There was no sign of a breakthrough in the Brexit deadlock Wednesday when UK lawmakers failed to agree on an alternative to Theresa May’s beleaguered plan even as she offered to resign in a desperate attempt to save it.Facing intense pressure from her fractured party, the British Prime Minister said she would step down if and when her Brexit deal was delivered. There was a desire for “a new approach, and new leadership,” she told a meeting of Conservative lawmakers.

Nawaz to be shifted to Sharif Medical City for treatment

LAHORE (DNA) – Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be shifted to the Sharif Medical City for treatment after getting a six-week bail on medical grounds by the Supreme Court.Nawaz Sharif’s doctor said it will be determined whether the treatment is possible or not in six weeks after the check-up of the former premier.It is worth mentioning here that the Supreme Court had on Tuesday granted bail to former premier Nawaz Sharif for six weeks against a surety bond of Rs5 million in a petition filed on medical grounds in Al-Azizia corruption reference; however, with a restriction that he cannot leave the country.

Lahore: Woman allegedly tortured by husband, friends for refusing to dance

LAHORE (DNA) – A woman was allegedly assaulted by her husband and his friends in Lahore’s Defence area for refusing to dance in front of them The victim, who was identified as Asma Aziz, told that she was brutally tortured by her husband Mian Faisal and his friends with pipes. She told that she was held down by a servant while her husband shaved her head.

Russia maintained balanced policy in Pak-India stand-off: Tehmina Janjua

Besides, Ms Janjua and Mr Dedov the conference was addressed by a number of local and Russian speakers.

Crackdown against addicted students in capital’s varsities

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Authorities have launched a crackdown against drug users and addicts on the campuses of two of the largest universities in the federal capital even as a Senate body decried incorrect information being provided about the extent of the drug problem on campuses.The parliamentary body set up a sub-committee which would visit campuses, engage with their administration to resolve issues of students and determine the extent of the drug problem.

PPP train march to leave for Sukkur from Nawabshah shortly
