Pakistan desires deeper relations with Kazakhstan: NA speaker

ISLAMABAD, MAR 26 (DNA) -: Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that Pakistan and Kazakhstan enjoy cordial relations based on strong foundation of religion, brotherhood, history and culture.Expressing the desire for strengthening the bilateral relations, he said that Pakistan wanted to further expand existing bilateral relations through enhanced parliamentary and economic cooperation.

Saudi Arabia retains world tourism body seat

CAIRO:  (DNA) – Saudi Arabia has retained its seat on the executive council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for the Middle East region for the third time in a row.Saudi Arabia was participating in a UNWTO regional committee meeting held on Sunday in Cairo.The country was represented by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) and the delegation was headed by Ahmad bin Aqil Al-Khatib, who is chairman of the SCTH board of directors.

Pakistan determined to achieve stable, peaceful country: COAS

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday visited National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad and addressed the participants of the 4th Pakistan-UK stabilization conference.In a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), during interaction with participants, the COAS focused on internal and external security situation of the country and his vision of an enduring peace within Pakistan and the region.

LHC orders to remove Shehbaz Sharif’s name from ECL

LAHORE (DNA) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday has ordered to remove name of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif from Exit Control List (ECL).During the hearing, Shehbaz’s counsel said that his client’s name was placed on ECL despite appearing before National Accountability Bureau (NAB).The court asked NAB about the assets beyond income case against the former Chief Minister of Punjab over which anti-corruption watchdog’s lawyer said that the inquiry was started on October 23 which some suspicious transactions from Sharif’s account were traced.

Supreme Court grants bail to Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) –  The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted bail to former premier Nawaz Sharif in a petition filed on medical grounds in Al-Azizia corruption reference. Sharif’s defence counsel Khawaja Haris pleaded with the court to grant his client bail as he would need eight weeks for medical treatment.A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa – also comprising of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Yahya Afridi – presided over hearing of Sharif’s appeal against a Feb 25 Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision to reject his bail on medical grounds.

Hales identifies ‘four main teams in the running to lift the World Cup’

LONDON (DNA) – Top-order batsman Alex Hales believes England deserve to be considered the favourites to win the ICC Men s Cricket World Cup 2019.The 30-year-old also feels that claiming a World Cup medal would be “outstanding” and is also bidding to be involved in the ICC T20 World Cup in 2020.Hales, who hopes England will learn from the heartbreak suffered in previous campaigns, also concedes that how his country deal with those pressure moments – especially in the latter stages, if England progress past the group phase – will go a long way to determining their success.”England are the favourites and that is based on what we have achieved in the last four years, which has been fantastic,” Hales told Sky Sports.

KARACHI (DNA) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) train march led by party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has started from Cantt Railway Station Karachi today (Tuesday).Bilawal Bhutto’s train march titled as “Caravan-e-Bhutto”  has reached Landhi Railway Station. Bilawal Bhutto while addressing the workers said that 40 years ago, non-democratic powers hanged Zulfiqar Bhutto. The train and will reach Larkana where thousands of PPP workers and party leader will welcome party chairman on his arrival in Larkana.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Barlybay Sadykov briefs media about recent changes

ISLAMABAD, MAR 26 (DNA)..  Ambassador of Kazakhstan Barlybay Sadykov has said President Nursultan Nazarbayev has stepped down in order to give new leadership a chance to run country’s affairs and have a peaceful transition of power adding the new government will still be deriving guidelines from the vision of the outgoing president.The ambassador expressed these views while talking to members of the press.The ambassador said the new leadership of Kazskhstan will continue with policies of the outgoing President Nursultan Nazarbayev whether it is regional integration; peace keeping moves or economic initiatives put forward by the outgoing President.

IHC remands reverted sisters in state custody for protection

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Two young sisters Reena and Raveena – who had reverted to Islam from Hinduism on March 23 Khanpur – on Tuesday appeared before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking protection for themselves and their husbands.Meanwhile, the IHC remanded them in state custody.Yesterday, they filed petition while rejecting speculations on the media that they were abducted and forced to convert to Islam.
