SAARC postponement: No minister attends NEPAL constitution day reception

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 29 (DNA) The Constitution Day reception hosted by the Ambassador of Nepal could not attract many people because of Nepal’s role played in the postponement of SAAARC conference which was scheduled to take place in Islamabad in November this year.

Even no minister turned up and willy-nilly the Nepalese diplomats had to request to Mushahid Hussain Syed the PML Q leader to come on stage and take part in cake cutting.

India, Afghanistan reach agreement for air corridor

KABUL, 25 SEPT (DNA) – India and Afghanistan have reached an agreement for establishment of an air corridor. “We reached an agreement with India for establishment of an air corridor, to send Afghan goods through the air. President Ashraf Ghani,” Pajhwok Afghan News tweeted quoting Afghan President Ashraf Ghani as saying.

Ghani during his two-day visit to India last week urged the Indian businessmen to use the air route for trade in a bid to help free his landlocked country from the constraints of those neighbours, who do not wish his country well.

PIA reschedules tomorrow’s flights to Gilgit and Skardu

KARACHI, SEPT 25 (DNA) – Due to northern areas air space restriction, PIA’s 26th September flights to Gilgit and Skardu will operate earlier than their scheduled timings.Islamabad-Gilgit-Islamabad flights PK-607 and PK-608 will be operated 45 minutes ahead of their scheduled time at 5:15 am and 7 am respectively, while Islamabad-Skardu-Islamabad flights PK-451 and PK-452 will now operate nearly three hours ahead of their scheduled time at 5:15 am and 7 am respectively.PIA Call Center is informing passengers through SMS and phone calls on the numbers provided at the time of booking.=DNA

ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the National Assembly said on Thursday that all organisations using public money were subject to audit and ordered the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) to get its accounts audited from the Auditor General Pakistan Revenues (AGPR).

The PAC observed that passage of the 18th Amendment did not absolve any of the organisations using public funds and receiving money from the government kitty from the obligation of getting their accounts audited.
