Senate chairman lauds Uzbek role in achieving regional peace

41 dead in Russian plane blaze disaster
MOSCOW: (DNA) – Forty-one people including at least two children have died after a Russian passenger plane made an emergency landing and erupted in a huge ball of fire and black smoke at Moscow´s busiest airport on Sunday, investigators said.Dramatic footage that went viral on social media showed Aeroflot´s Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft crash-landing and then speeding along the runway at Sheremetyevo international airport, flames pouring from its fuselage.
Eight passengers burnt alive as van catches fire in Jhelum
JHELUM (DNA) – At least eight passengers were burnt alive and several other were wounded when a van caught fire at the Grand Trank (GT) Road near Tarkai Toll Plaza in Jhelum on Sunday night.Three of the passengers managed to jump out of the burning van to save their lives. The ill-fated van was going to Rawalpindi from Lahore when it caught fire due to short-circuit.Rescue teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control and shifted the injured to District Headquarters Hospital, Jhelum. Traffic remained suspended at the GT road after the accident which created problems for other people.

Chinese embassy opens visa center in Islamabad

Committee of experts formed to put an end to moon sighting controversies: Fawad
ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – The government has set up a new committee that would determine moon sighting for key Islamic dates and months , said Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday.The minister said in a Tweet that the five-member committee will comprise of science and technology experts from SUPARCO (Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission) and MET Office.
