ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman’s string of good scores, have helped him vault 44 places to claim second position in the latest ICC player rankings after the finish of tri-series in Harare.In the latest player rankings, which also takes into account India’s 2-0 and 2-1 series win against Ireland and England, respectively, Australia opener Aaron Finch leads Fakhar by 45 points, said a press release issued.

Indian top court bars offering namaz at Taj Mahal mosque

NEW DELHI, (DNA) – The Supreme Court on Monday refused Muslims to offer namaz at the mosque of Taj Mahal stating that the monument’s preservation is of utmost importance.According to the court, the historic Taj Mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world and must be preserved. It thus observed that there shouldn’t be any prayers performed at the monument.The court’s judgment is only applicable to outsiders and not locals as for now.

Pakistan beat Australia to win triangular T20 series

HARARE: (DNA) – Fakhar Zaman smashed 46-ball 91 as Pakistan beat Australia in the final of triangular Twenty series at Harare Sports Club on Sunday.Zaman was supported by veteran Shoaib Malik who chipped in with 43 runs to guide Pakistan to a convincing victory in the final.Sarfraz Ahmed also made 19-ball 28 in the chase.

Turkey sacks 18,500 state employees in new decree

ANKARA, (DNA) – Turkish authorities ordered the dismissal of more than 18,500 state employees including police officers, soldiers and academics, in a decree published on Sunday.The Official Gazette said 18,632 people had been sacked including 8,998 police officers and 6,152 military personnel.Turkish media dubbed the decree as the “last” after officials previously indicated the state of emergency in place since July 2016 could end as early as Monday.
