ISLAMABAD, SEPT 9 (DNA) – Work on removal of wild growth and vegetation, from different parts of the city, remained continue even on Monday, 9th Muharram, despite gazetted holiday of Aashura Muharram.

In order to remove wild growth, rank vegetation and to improve overall cleanliness of the city, Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Administration ICT alongwith Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad have initiated a Clean and Green Campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to revive clean and green status of Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 9 (DNA) – Mrs Androulla Kaminara has been appointed as the new EU Ambassador-Designate to Pakistan.Mrs. Kaminara was working in Brussels, the headquarters of the European Union before being appointed as ambassador to Pakistan.Mrs. Kaminara shall be the first ever female EU ambassador in Pakistan.In her recent tweets she said, “Religion has to be part of the solution. In all continents, there are people of faith who have chosen the path of respect and coexistence. Not in spite of their faith, but because of their faith”. 

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 08 (DNA) – Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, called on President Arif Alvi at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.President Arif Alvi warmly welcomed Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s visit  to Pakistan and felicitated him on the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He reiterated that China was Pakistan’s closest friend, staunch partner and iron brother.President Arif Alvi briefed Foreign Minister Wang Yi on India’s unilateral and illegal actions of 5 August which were aimed at changing the internationally recognized disputed status of J&K as well as its demographic structure and identity.

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 8 (DNA) -Pakistan has categorically rejected Indian attempts, including the recent briefing by the Indian National Security Advisor, seeking to portray a totally false impression of normalcy in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir.Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir continues to be the largest prison in the world with the heaviest deployment of Indian occupation forces since the coercive, unilateral and illegal Indian actions of 5 August 2019 aimed at altering the internationally recognized disputed status of IOJ&K and changing its demographic structure to preempt the results of a UN plebiscite. Despite Indian claims, curfew continues.

Chinese foreign minister meets Prime Minister Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 8 (DNA) -State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, paid an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on 7-8 September 2019. During the visit, Wang Yi called on President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, held talks with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and met with Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa. During the meetings, both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

BAKU, SEPT 08 (DNA) – The International Conference on Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), meeting in Baku with 31 Political Parties from 19 countries, unanimously passed a resolution supporting settling Kashmir issue ‘peacefully, taking into full account relevant UN Security Council Resolutions and that human rights abuses & disregard for international law must be stopped immediately’.Senator Mushahid Hussain, who is Vice Chairman of the ICAPP, read out the ‘Baku Statement’ which included this reference to Kashmir and Nagorno-Karabakh.

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 07 (DNA) – In the wake of the escalating tensions between Pakistan and India over New Delhi’s unlawful annexation of the disputed Himalayan territory of Kashmir, Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has installed nine modern surveillance radars at multiple airports across the country to protect the airspace against any misadventures or intrusions.The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has been prompted to install 9 high-tech radar systems at multiple airports after the escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed rivals, which has stirred alarm bells across south Asia.

DUSHANBE, SEPT 07 (DNA) – The Defence Day assumed special significance this year as it was celebrated in solidarity with Kashmiri brothers and sisters for the first time in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, after the opening of Defence Wing in Pakistan embassy last year.Ambassador of Pakistan Imran Haider hosted a reception where Tajikistan’s Deputy Defence Minister Major-General Mahmadzoda Suhrob Talbak was the chief guest. Several high-ranking Tajik civil and military officials, parliamentarians, ambassadors, academicians, members of the diplomatic corps, defence & military attaches, media persons and members of Pakistani community attended the reception.
