Fawad proposes appointment of judges to deal with defamation

ISLAMABAD, MAR 31 (DNA): Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has proposed the Supreme Court to appoint judges at every district and city level to ensure effective implementation of laws against defamation and derogatory write up.In a letter written to the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan, he proposed appointment of four judges in every district with a population of five millions and above, two judges for the population of 2.5 million and above one judge for less than 2.5 million people.

Uzbekistan Ready To Host Talks On Afghan Peace

President Ashraf Ghani on Sunday met the visiting Uzbek delegation, led by Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, and discussed the peace process, regional connectivity, infrastructure projects and economic ties between the two countries, the Presidential Palace said in a statement.Relations between the two countries are better than ever, Kalimov said in his meeting with Ghani, adding that implementation of joint infrastructural projects between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan will further strengthen the ties.

King Salman: We reject move to undermine Syrian sovereignty of Golan Heights

TUNIS: (DNA)  –  Any moves to undermine Syria’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights should be rejected, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman told the Arab League summit on Sunday.US President Donald Trump last week signed a proclamation recognizing the Golan as Israeli, less than four months after saying Jerusalem is Israel’s capital.King Salman said at the Arab League summit in Tunis that he absolutely rejects any measures that impact on Syrian sovereignty over the Golan Heights.

Nisar says will reveal his political plan at ‘appropriate time’

Hameed Haroon, Sarmad Ali elected APNS President, Secy General

KARACHI, MAR 30 (DNA) –Hameed Haroon of Dawn Group and Sarmad of Jang Group were elected unopposed as the President and Secretary General of APNS, on Saturday.The other office bearers include Rameeza Majid Nizami as Senior Vice President, Mumtaz A. Tahir as Vice President, Syed Muhammad Munir Jilani as Joint Secretary and Shahab Zuberi as Finance Secretary of the Society for the year 2019-20.The Annual General Council held on March 30, 2019 under the Chairmanship of Hameed Haroon, President, unanimously approved the report of the Executive Committee for the preceding year as well as the Annual Accounts of the Society for the year 2018.

However, its speed was broken by corruption and malpractices.The Prime Minister said Sindh deserves to be the most prosperous province of Pakistan as it is blessed with financial capital of Pakistan Karachi, the most gas produced and a fertile land. But the sheer level of poverty in interior Sindh is due to corruption.

ECP asks voters to transfer vote on CNIC address by March 31

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday asked the eligible voters to transfer their vote on their permanent or temporary address written on their computerized national identity card (CNIC) by March 31.According to an official of the ECP, votes would be considered as ineffective of all those voters who failed to transfer their votes on CNIC address with the ECP under the law.

GWADAR (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that development of Gwadar will benefit the entire region in the future.Addressing the ground breaking ceremony of New Gwadar International Airport, he said that with the construction of the airport, aircrafts like A-380 could also make landing and the airport would have the capacity of handling 30,000 tonnes of cargo.
