ISLAMABAD, Jan 4 (DNA): Islamabad police have arrested 2828 accused during the year 2018 for possessing illegal weapons and narcotics, a police spokesman said on Friday.He said that police held 1623 accused for involvement in bootlegging and drug peddling activities while 499.633 kilogram hashish, 81.137 kilogram heroin, 7.244 kilogram opium, 1.675 kilogram ice, 1.096 kilogram cocaine and 27371 wine bottles were recovered from them.

ABU DHABI, (DNA) – Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan is scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on January 6.Sheikh Mohammad, who is also Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, had accepted an invitation to visit the country extended by Prime Minister Imran Khan in a telephonic conversation last year.

RAWALPINDI, JAN 03 (DNA) – General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Head Office Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL), Thursday.COAS was briefed on the company’s management and performance in related fields. Mari Petroleum is the 2nd largest gas producer in the country with cumulative daily production of 100,000 barrels of oil.

KONYA – JAN 03 (DNA) – The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan visited Konya Thursday on the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.Prime Minister Imran Khan was warmly received by Governor Konya Mr Cüneyit (Junaid) Orhan Toprak, Deputy Mayor Mr. Mithat Buyukalim, Ambassador of Pakistan Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, Garrison Commander and senior Turkish officials at the Konya airport.
