Rawalpindi, 11 February 2019: General Raheel Sharif (Retired), Commander-In-Chief of Islamic Alliance against Terrorism, KSA called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ, today.
During the meeting matters of mutual interest including regional peace and stability were discussed. COAS appreciated the efforts of Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) towards regional peace and security.

Imran Khan invites Pakistan’s youngest athlete Ayesha Ayaz to PM House
ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (DNA): Prime Minister Imran Khan has invited youngest Pakistani athlete Ayesha Ayaz at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad in an appreciation for her recent feat in the taekwondo (martial art) competition.Ayesha Ayaz became Pakistan’s youngest taekwondo athlete to bag accolades in the 27kg category during the 7th Fujairah Open International Taekwondo Championship in UAE a few days ago.She had dedicated her win to Prime Minister Imran Khan. The young girl hails from Swat.An event was also organised at Kanju, Swat to honour her achievement. In her speech at the event, she dedicated her medal to PM Khan. Ayesha added that she desired to win laurels for the nation.
Pakistan cooperating regional & int’l partners to bring peace in Afghanistan: FM
ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (DNA): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said Pakistan has always supported a negotiated political solution instead of use of power to bring peace in Afghanistan.Chairing a meeting of Advisory Council for Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Monday, he said Pakistan is fulfilling collective responsibility efficiently to bring peace in Afghanistan with cooperation of regional and international partners.The Foreign Minister said now the entire world support our stance regarding peace in Afghanistan.The Advisory Council also stressed to enhance relations with Pakistani immigrants by promotion of tourism, trade, investment, legal assistance and education sectors.
Supreme court says Asghar Khan case inquiry be completed in 4 weeks
ISLAMABAD, The apex court on Monday directed the authorities to complete inquiry in Asghar Khan case in four weeks.The court also observed that why the officers involved in the case have not been court martialed so far.

Judgment of Nandipur case to be announced on Feb 20
Accountability Court in Islamabad resumed hearing in Nandipur Power Project reference on Monday.Former Adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan completed arguments for his acquittal in the reference. On the other side, NAB prosecutor also completed his arguments.The court reserved its judgment on the case which will be announced on 20th of this month.
Pakistan to sign agreement, economic assistance package with IMF: Asad
Finance Minister Asad Umar says Pakistan is close to signing an agreement with economic assistance package with the International Monetary Fund.Addressing a ceremony at Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Peshawar on Monday, he expressed satisfaction that the international lender has shown flexibility on its position.The Minister said government will simplify the tax procedure in order to widen the tax net. He said a pilot project to this effect will be introduced for traders in Islamabad first and then will replicated in other parts of the country.
IMF chief reiterates funds stands ready to support Pakistan
The Federal Governmnet has planned to develop a Kamyab Jawan Program in collaboration with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority.The program is meant to create one million job opportunities through SME sector which would economically empower youth.An official of Youth Affairs department said that in this program SMEDA will find the top most business ventures in the local and international market.He said PM’s Youth Affairs would extend its maximum support for improving technical and vocational training to youth
IMF chief reiterates funds stands ready to support Pakistan
|Dubai ( DNA)Managing Director of International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde has reiterated that IMF stands ready to support Pakistan.
Talking to Prime Minister Imran Khan in Dubai on the side line of World Government Summit, she said that decisive policies and a strong package of economic reforms would enable Pakistan to restore the resilience of its economy and lay the foundations for stronger and more inclusive growth.
A press release issued by IMF says its Chief also appreciated government’s policy agenda, protecting the poor and strengthening governance as key priorities to improve peoples’ living standards in a sustainable manner.
Naval Chief visits naval ships of countries participating in Multi-National Exercise AMAN-2019
The 5-day Multi-National Maritime Exercises AMAN-2019, hosted by Pakistan Navy continued on third-day today and various activities were performed on the last day of Harbor Exercise Phase.
According to a spokesman of Pakistan Navy, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mehmood Abbasi visited the naval ships of participating countries including Britain, Turkey, China, Australia, Malaysia, Oman, Italy and Sri-Lanka.
During the visit the Naval Chief also met with the commanding officers and personnel of the naval ships.
The Naval Chief thanked them for their participation in exercise AMAN-19 and for the promotion of mutual cooperation.
