Azerbaijani carpets to be exhibited at UNESCO’s Headquarters

An exhibition “Undiscovered: New motives in Azerbaijan carpetry” will open at UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris on January 29.The exhibition will reflect different aspects of Azerbaijan’s tapestry history, focusing mainly on the historical and cultural heritage of the carpets produced by the Sheki Carpet School.The event is co-organized by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France.During the opening ceremony, a documentary video will tell the story of the exhibition project and of the city of Sheki.The project will also reflect the motifs of the famous Chaki Khans Palace, built in the 18th century, which represents the masterpiece of Qajar-style architecture.

Organizations seeking to hold exit poll appeal to CEC

BAKU, JAN 24 – According to the legislation, organizations wishing to hold an Exit Poll should apply to the Central Election Commission (CEC) 20 days prior to the voting day,” Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Rovzat Gasimov told.Gasimov said that appeals had already been submitted to the CEC. “The CEC is currently working on it. The information on organizations that submitted their documents to the CEC will be presented to the media in the coming days,” he added.

Promotion of education priority of Azerbaijan govt: Ali Alizada

ISLAMABAD, JAN 24 (DNA) – Ambassador of Azerbaijan Ali Alizada has said his country attached great importance to promotion and development of education that is why Azerbaijan was intensely engaged in Pakistan in this regard.

The ambassador said Azerbaijan under the banner of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, had already launched a number of welfare projects in Pakistan adding after deadly earthquake in Pakistan Azerbaijan immediately started humanitarian and relief work.

The ambassador made these remarks on the occasion of inauguration of Eco School in Shah Allah Ditta a suburban village of Islamabad. The Eco School is a project of Wellness Trust.
