ISLAMABAD, MAR 05 (DNA) –Ambassador of Uzbekistan Furqat Sidikov on Tuesday met with the Speaker of National Assembly of Pakistan Asad Qaiser.During the meeting, both sides discussed issues of enhancing bilateral inter-parliamentary relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan including further enhancing of cooperation in the field of trade, agriculture, logistics, investments and cultural cooperation.

Trump plans to scrap preferential trade treatment for India

WASHINGTON/NEW DELHI (DNA) – U.S. President Donald Trump looked set to open a new front in his trade wars on Monday with a plan to end preferential trade treatment for India that allows duty-free entry for $5.6 billion worth of the country’s exports to the United States.Trump, who has vowed to cut U.S. trade deficits, has repeatedly called out India for its high tariffs, and U.S. trade officials said scrapping the concessions would take at least 60 days after notifications to Congress and the Indian government.

PM Imran displeased with Fayyaz Chohan over anti-Hindu remarks

LAHORE (DNA News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan was displeased with Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan over anti-Hindu remarks and said derogatory statement against any minority is not acceptable, on Tuesday.Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders slammed Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan after his comments and hinted at taking action against him. Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq promised that strict action will be taken against the provincial minister.

Fayyaz Chohan apologizes for statement against Hindu community

LAHORE (DNA News) – After facing strong backlash, Punjab Information and Culture Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan Tuesday apologized for statement against the Hindu community.The provincial minster clarified that his remarks were not meant to target the Hindu religion or community; he just addressed the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, its army and media.“All minorities are part of Pakistan and have equal rights,” he said.Fayyaz Chohan was slammed by his own party leaders as well as the opposition after the racist comments. Prime Minister Imran Khan was also displeased with him and said derogatory statement against any minority is not acceptable.

Indian fighter planes intruded into Pakistan territory in the early hours of Tuesday, February 26, claiming to have hit hideouts of JeM. The Indian side also claimed killing scores of JeM people. Consequent reports and investigations proved all Indian claims false as there was no JeM hideout whatsoever in Balakot thus no question of large scale killings. When challenged by jets of Pakistan Air Force, the Indian planes fled from the scene jettisoning the payload. Pakistan the next morning struck back and hit two Indian planes killing two pilots and arresting one alive.  

22 of the top 30 most polluted cities in the world are in India

NEW DELHI, (DNA) – India accounts for seven of the world’s 10 cities with the worst air pollution, according to a new report, but previously smogbound Chinese cities have seen a marked improvement.Gurugram, a suburb of the Indian capital New Delhi, is the world’s most polluted city, according to Greenpeace and AirVisual, which found it had an average air quality index of 135.8 in 2018 — almost three times the level which the US Environmental Protection Agency regards as healthy.

US closes Jerusalem consulate, demoting Palestinian mission

JERUSALEM:  (DNA) – The United States has officially shuttered its consulate in Jerusalem, downgrading the status of its main diplomatic mission to the Palestinians by folding it into the US Embassy to Israel.For decades, the consulate functioned as a de facto embassy to the Palestinians. Now, that outreach will be handled by a Palestinian affairs unit, under the command of the embassy.The symbolic shift hands authority over US diplomatic channels with the West Bank and Gaza to ambassador David Friedman, a longtime supporter and fundraiser for the West Bank settler movement and fierce critic of the Palestinian leadership.

Pakistani, Kashmiri community hold protest against Indian aggression in France
