CPEC to change the economic fate of Balochistan people, AJK President

MUZAFFARABAD, FEB 26 (DNA) – Describing Baluchistan as a strategically important federating unit of the country, Azad Jammu Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan has said that when Balochistan will achieve prosperity, the whole of Pakistan will be prosperous.

The President expressed these views during a meeting with a 14-member delegation of journalists led by Ilias Kamboh, President, Hub Press Club here at President House on Friday. He said after the completion of development projects under the China-Pakistan Corridor, a new era of progress and prosperity will usher in Balochistan and it will turn the economic fate of the Baloch people.

The people of Balochistan should have faith and confidence that the whole of Pakistan, including Azad Kashmir, wants to see them prosperous and developed and with the grace of Almighty Allah, the time is not far when investors from all over the world will come to Balochistan and create jobs, business and employment opportunities in the province.

Expressing his deep gratitude to the people, government and media of Balochistan for consistently expressing their solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he said that the media should raise awareness about the opportunities that will arise for the development and the prosperity of the province in the coming time.

Baloch people are brave and hardworking and they are fortunate enough to have a long coastal belt where the traditional feudal system has been weakened. “Now is the time for them to forge unity and turn this region into a dreamland.” He said that like Balochistan, the people of Azad Kashmir also faced many problems but in the recent past we have taken a quantum leap and achieved the highest literacy rate in all of Pakistan.

At present, there are 5 public sector universities in AJK, hundreds of colleges and thousands of schools where millions of children are studying. “Our biggest challenge is the unprovoked firing by the Indian occupation troops on the Line of Control, which kills and injures innocent civilians every day and causes irreparable losses to their property,” AJK President said. = DNA

WhatsApp Live Location Makes Real-Time Coordination Easy

It’s been a while since WhatsApp introduced the WhatsApp live location feature. The handy feature allows users to view the live location of a contact who they are coordinating for the meetup. While many users enjoy the complete use of this feature, there are still many who may need more insight into it. So, let’s talk about how you can practically enjoy this feature while coordinating for meetups.

DNA 26-17

WhatsApp Live Location – Easy Real-Time Tracking

If you happen to travel a lot for work or personal affairs, you often use Google Maps to locate the place where you want to go. However, it doesn’t work out very well always.

WhatsApp live location feature enables you to coordinate with your contact over the app and ask to turn on the live location. This way, you can use directions to the exact place where your contact is.

DNA 26-18

This not only saves your time but also makes it easier for you to arrive at the exact location. Furthermore, if your contact has to move away from the location, you will also be able to track that on your WhatsApp.

This feature is available for both, android and iOS users.

How to Share Real-Time Location

To use the WhatsApp live location feature, you need to select the contact from your app who you want to meet. Once you turn on your live location, you can choose the time window for live tracking from 15 minutes to 8 hours.

Once you choose the time, it sends your contact a map that displays where you are at a particular moment in time. Your location is shared in individual chats, which means you can share your live location in a one-on-one WhatsApp conversation or a group chat. This feature comes in handy in the local environment where it is difficult to trust Google Maps.

If you haven’t tried this feature for meetups coordination, feel free to give it a try as we hope it doesn’t disappoint you.

For more app updates, keep checking in as we update the latest news every day.

Do you use this feature? Feel free to share your experience in the comments section.

Sustainable solution to Pakistan problems lies in structural reforms: PIAF

DNA

LAHORE, FEB 26 – The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) has said the sustainable solution to Pakistan’s problems lies in the structural reforms, as we can see very large inefficiencies in tax collection, which needs to be removed. So, the tax compliance must be improved and tax base should be broadened, which cannot be achieved with a single policy change, but by a systemic approach.

PIAF Chairman Mian Nauman Kabir, in a joint statement with senior vice chairman Nasir Hameed and vice chairman Javed Siddiqi, urged the Federal Board of Revenue to immediately stop issuing notices to businessmen, as it is not only creating undue harassment among them but also giving a bad name to the government.

PIAF Chairman said that the economy has just come out of the dark shadows cast by the Covid-19 pandemic and is still facing the aftershocks of the lockdown period.

The businessmen are doing their best to makeup the losses incurred during that period, he said, adding that the PIAF feels that issuance of notices to businesses at this juncture will put a halt to the process of economic recovery, which is still far away from normal.

Mian Nauman Kabir said that only direct taxes can improve tax collection, as the existing tax system is heavily skewed toward indirect taxation.

He said the registered businesses are required to comply with various departments involving a lot of financial and time resources, whereas unregistered businesses are free from all such hassles, he maintained.

He said that in the past instead of focusing on controlling under-invoicing, curbing smuggling and expanding the tax net, the FBR seems to be inclined to pressurize registered taxpayers, who are already suffering due to a high rate of sales tax, income tax, and custom duties by creating fictitious cases for recovery of outstanding dues to meet revenue target.

He said that businesses are already in a complicated state-of-affairs, while anti-business actions against business community were not only adding to the miseries of the business community but are also promoting trust deficit between the government and the business community.

PIAF vice chairman Javed Siddiqi also emphasized that concentrating on import substitution is imperative to narrow import bills and certain imported products such as oil are of a fixed nature, therefore, the government needs to enhance focus on import substitution industries, as chemicals, agriculture and steel are potential industries.

Javed Siddiqi said that undertaking structural reforms require political will. He said that enacting structural reforms, such as improvements in tax collection system, bureaucracy and ease of doing business requires major political will and strict implementation of policies, he added.

He said the current account deficit contracted to a large extent, foreign exchange reserves increased, primary budget recorded a surplus, and new there is need to ease core inflation. Importantly, export-based manufacturing showed signs of traction and construction activities picked up, indicating that the economy was on the path of recovery. However, further improvements need serious structural reforms to put the economy on a firm path of sustainable growth.
