In Palestine, over hundred protesters have been injured in clashes with Israeli soldiers near Nablus city of West Bank.
In a statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said the protests broke out in Beita, Huwara and other areas in the West Bank against the tightened measures that had been taken against thousands of Palestinians imprisoned in Israeli jails.

TASHKENT: Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, speaking at a virtual meeting dedicated to Afghanistan, said that Dushanbe will accept only an inclusive government in this country, Sputnik Tajikistan news agency reports today, September 9.
Sirojiddin Muhriddin stressed that Tajikistan will support only the government, which will include all ethnic groups, including the Tajiks of Afghanistan.
“The world community has not been able to restore order in Afghanistan for 20 years and has left tens of thousands of terrorists in this country as a “legacy”. This country has become a hotbed of chaos. What should Tajikistan, which has a long and vulnerable border with this country, do in this situation? ” the Foreign Minister added.
In his speech, Sirojiddin Muhriddin also touched upon the ongoing fighting in Panjshir and said that the Taliban used aircraft in attacks on this province with the help of third countries, killing a large number of ethnic Tajiks.
In this regard, I call on the international community to influence the Taliban and help find a political solution to the current crisis,” the Tajik minister said.
The online meeting was initiated by the United States and Germany. It was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Australia, Bahrain, Canada, France, India, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Norway, Pakistan, Qatar, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, as well as the leaders of the EU, NATO and the United Nations.
ISLAMABAD : Rs.5,000 has been fixed as a fee for the Rapid PCR test for the passengers traveling the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Islamabad airport.
According to the details, the fee for the rapid antigen test for passengers going to Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi has been reduced for the airlines and fixed at Rs.5,000.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has said that all the passengers willing to travel to UAE can get their rapid PCR test to diagnose COVID-19 at the fees of Rs.5,000. In this regard, all the laboratories at the airport have been formally informed.
It may be recalled that the charges of Rapid PCR at Faisalabad International Airport had also been reduced from Rs.6,500 to Rs 5,000 earlier, after which those going to UAE would be able to take the test for Rs.5,000.
It may be recalled that the UAE Authority had issued a new guideline on rapid antigen test for the citizens of Pakistan, India, Nepal, Nigeria and Sri Lanka.
The new guidelines increased the test time from 4 to 6 hours and stated that all airlines would be required to comply with the new directive, requiring passengers to undergo a rapid PCR test before arriving in the UAE.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) on Thursday announced to have discovered gas in Latif Block in Sindh province.
“We are pleased to disclose a hydrocarbon discovery from exploratory well, Jugan-1, in the Latif Block,” PPL said in a letter to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The well was drilled to a total depth of 11,350 ft with a reservoir target as Lower Goru Sands, it said, adding on completion of the well, B sand zone (11,122-11,132 ft KB) was perforated which flowed 12.6 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas with well head flowing pressure (WHFP) of 3,063 pounds per square inch (PSI) at 28/64 inch choke size.
Followed by the B sand zone testing, C sand zone (10,30 KB – 10,310 KB) was also perforated which flowed 13.7 MMSCFD of gas at FWHP of 3,323 PSIG at 28/64 inch choke size.
“The discovery is the result of an aggressive exploration strategy adopted by the joint venture partners, leading to new opportunities. The discovery will contribute in improving the energy security of the country from indigenous resources and it will also increase the hydrocarbon reserves of the joint venture partners and the country,” read the letter.
On September 7, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced a gas and condensate discovery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Lakki.

Three Rear Admirals of Pakistan Navy have been promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral.

Morocco’s Islamist Justice and Development Party (PJD) has suffered a crushing defeat in parliamentary elections, slumping from first to eighth place.
The liberal National Rally of Independents (RNI) party gained most seats, followed by another liberal party – the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) – which is seen as close to the monarchy.
The RNI and PAM parties took 97 and 82 seats respectively of the 395-seat parliament, while the centre-right Istiqlal Party got 78 seats, according to the preliminary results announced on Thursday.
The PJD only got 12 seats from the 125 seats it had in the outgoing assembly.

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has lashed out at ex-speedster Shoaib Akhtar, saying that he doesn’t understand why people take Akhtar seriously.
The former left-arm pacer laughed in response and said: “Then make him the chairman. I don’t know why people take what Shoaib Akhtar says so seriously. If a person has no tameez (manners) he knows nothing about life,” he added.
When asked whether local coaches can and should be appointed for the national squad, Wasim Akram said he was not sure whether any local coach would live up to the task.
“Give me some names, give me an option amongst the local coaches and I will try and pick one good candidate but I doubt if there is any,” he said.
When asked to give his opinion on Javed Miandad, Wasim said: “Javed bhai has a great cricketing mind and has been involved with Pakistan cricket. He can come in as a cricket director or a consultant. However, to be coach, you have to be involved with Pakistan cricket for at least 10-15 years,” he added.
When asked whether the coach should have the final say in selecting the playing XI, Akram said it is a “very difficult question to answer.”
“It should not be about ego,” he said. “At the end of the day, the coach’s job should be to ensure the team that has been selected for him, plays well.”
Responding to reports of Babar Azam being “unhappy” with the T20 World Cup selection, Akram said the skipper was one of the best batsmen in the world but he will have to learn some things.
“What does Babar Azam need, as a captain, at the end of the day? He needs to know how to win, you know. If he thinks an average player can win him the match, then Babar Azam should back him,” he said.
“We have to change the ‘I know a person so I have to back him’ mindset of Pakistan cricket,” stressed Wasim. “People still request me to have either this or that player selected [for the team]. I mean, for God’s sake,” he added.
When asked whether he was influencing the selection for the national squad, Wasim Akram responded by saying “not at all.”
“Do you think I have time for this?” he asked. “I have learn’t only one thing from my time living in Karachi. Urta teer lenay ka nahi hai (do not unnecessarily cause problems for yourself),” he responded, laughing.
Wasim was asked whether Pakistan should review the decision to select Mohammad Amir again, given that now Misbah and Waqar had both stepped down, Akram said it is too late.
“I think it is too late for Amir now,” he said. “He should have made that decision earlier. The team has been selected now.”
He said that in any professional sport, performance matters. “During Misbah’s tenure, we have won against Zimbabwe and South Africa, whose main players were playing in the IPL. We did not win against the main teams because no one had their roles defined,” he added.
Akram said that, in his opinion as an outsider, all members of the Pakistan cricket team’s current T20 squad have a clear role to play.
The former skipper said if he was head coach of the national squad instead of Misbah, he would have asked for the best bowling, fielding and batting coaches.
“I wouldn’t want people appointed [as coaches] whom I get along with the best,” he added.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani is visiting Pakistan today (Thursday).
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi will hold talks with him, focusing on developments in Afghanistan and Pakistan-Qatar relations.
During the visit, the Qatari Deputy Prime Minister will call on other dignitaries as well.
In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Asim Iftikhar Ahmed said Pakistan and Qatar enjoy close, cordial ties rooted deep in shared faith and values. He said the two countries closely collaborate on regional and global issues of common interest.
Qatar is home to more than 200,000 hardworking Pakistani expatriates contributing to national development and economic progress of both countries.
