Somalian commercial attaché visits RCCI

RAWALPINDI, (DNA) – Commercial attaché Khaddar Dheen Gulled from the embassy of federal republic of Somalia paid a visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) yesterday.During his meeting with President RCCI Malik Shahid Saleem he said Pakistan had great opportunities to enhance its trade and exports by establishing close business relations with Somalia. Somalia is a gateway to African markets, he added.

There are immense opportunities to increase bilateral trade ties in different sectors, live stock, fisheries, agriculture, construction, real estate and pharmaceutical.

Commercial attaché Khaddar Dheen urged business community to take benefits of lucrative incentive being offered by Somalian Government.

We are ready to help investors in identifying key areas of mutual interest and joint ventures. He said in near future Somalian trade ministry will hold a three days exhibition and a business opportunity conference in Pakistan and expressed hope that RCCI through his platform will cooperate and provide assistance in this regard.

A memorandum of understanding will be signed between RCCI and Somalian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote bilateral trade and relations, he further added.

President RCCI Malik Shahid Saleem said, trade between Pakistan and Somalia was not very encouraging and stressed that frequent exchange of business delegations was the best option to improve bilateral trade volume.

He assured his full support and cooperation in organizing business opportunity conference and exhibition and said such Business to Business (B2B) meetings can be good source of increasing trade in key export sectors like Rice, pharmaceutical, marble and textile.

He also stressed to improve the air links, direct flights to Mogadishu for better transportation. He offered joint ventures under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said Gwadar can serve an ideal platform to reach African markets.

Senior Vice President Muhammad Badar Haroon, Vice President Fayyaz Qureshi, member of the executive committee Tahir Taj Bhatti was also present in the meeting.
