Religious extremism threatening Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is suffering disturbances due to national terrorists and religious threats: suspected members of the Uzbek Islamist Movement and of the Islamic Jihad Union are frequently arrested and condemned on the Uzbek territory. The country also has other regional concerns: drug trade (mainly coming from Afghanistan) that benefits to corruption in each State level, from socio-demographic preoccupations (60% of the population is under thirty) to problems in the insertion of ethnic minorities.

International Water for Life conference that took place in the Tajik Capital, Dushanbe on June 9-11, 2015 was indeed a historic event for Tajikistan as prominent world leaders including the Prime Minister of Pakistan graced the occasion with the presence. The Tajik government had made elaborate arrangements for the facilitation of the delegates and participants alike. The event that continued for two days, ostensibly proved yet another feather in Tajikistan’s cap – a country which is constantly on the move after its independence.

Mr. Sherali Jononov is a career diplomat. Ever since his appointment as Ambassador to Pakistan, he has undertaken a number of steps to further strengthen relations between Tajikistan and Pakistan. The construction of Tajik Embassy building inside the diplomatic enclave has already started, which speaks volumes for the close relationship between the two brotherly countries. Mr. Jononov is keen in further expanding and diversifying bilateral relations. His country is especially keen to help Pakistan in the energy sector. Some changes have cardinal character and affect the prevailing world order as a whole. They create new problems, the solutions of which require collective exploration and efforts, including in the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

The Peshawar tragedy: some musings

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharf in his televised address to the nation on the midnight of December 24 unfurled 20-point national security plan,   formulated in consultation with all mainstream political parties of the country. The plan was chalked out in the wake of Peshawar tragedy in which about 145 precious lives were lost as a result of the dastardly terror attack. Undoubtedly, the Peshawar incident proved a binding factor that brought together otherwise belligerent political parties such as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and PML-N. PTI received fulsome accolades from all and sundry for shelving its differences with the government and sitting on the table along with other political parties in order to seek a “permanent” and ‘effective’ solution to the menace of terrorism and extremism.

The next day December 10 is commemorated at the international level, by resolution of the UN, Human Rights Day, in accordance with this in the majority of the countries held activities appropriate to these effects.In Cuba also we celebrate this day, In spite of the fact that the enemies of the Cuban Revolution and annexationists peoples continuing with its policy of assaulting our revolutionary process and show us as violators of the principles of Human Rights and trying to present a distorted image about our country and government with lies.

Even a small concentration is considered to be toxic and is a threat for human health when its quantity in soil exceeds 400-500mg/kg (US-EPA). In our everyday life, we are exposed to a number of toxins present in our environment without even realizing it. Toxins are basically the poisonous substances produced by organisms. One of the most poisonous and life threatening toxic substances known is the botulinum toxin. It is a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov).It acts at peripheral cholinergic synapses that blocks the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
