Pink Bus service gets launched in Mardan

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) –  To ensure safe and hassle-free journey exclusively for women travelers, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Thursday launched the Pink Bus service in Mardan.The new separate transport facility particularly for women has officially been launched in Mardan with 10 newly buses painted pink, hitting the road during in initial days which would facilitate female commuters on many routes.

NEPRA for ensuring un-interrupted power supply during Ramadan

ISLAMABAD, APR 03 (DNA) – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has asked the electricity distribution companies to submit a plan for reliable power supply to consumers during this summer.In order to ensure reliable and un-interrupted power supply to consumers during the coming summer especially during the month of Holy Ramadan, NEPRA has sought detailed plans from DISCOs for removal of system constraints in their respective areas, so that consumers can get reliable electric supply in the summer.

Pakistan summons Indian deputy HC over ceasefire violations

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohmmad Faisal Wednesday summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner (HC) Gaurav Ahluwalia and condemned ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC) on April 1 and 2.Dr Faisal, who is also the Director General of South Asia and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) said on April 1, four innocent civilians including Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Shahzad, Akbar Jaan and Kousar Parveen were injured in Nezapir, Rakhchikri, Hotspring and Jandrot, Sectors along the LoC.

Abdelaziz Bouteflika resigns as president of Algeria after 20 years in power

ALGIERS: (DNA) – Algeria’s ailing leader Abdelaziz Bouteflika submitted his resignation with immediate effect, ceding power in the face of massive street protests after two decades at the helm.Bouteflika “officially advised the Constitutional Council of the end of his term of office as President of the Republic” from Tuesday, said a news ticker on the public broadcaster.Long accused of clinging to power, Bouteflika has come under mounting pressure to step down since his decision to seek a fifth term despite rarely being seen in public after suffering a stroke in 2013.
