Peshawar: Five terrorists killed in operation, one official martyred

HAYATABAD (DNA) – Five terrorists were Tuesday killed in an operation at a house in Hayatabad – a suburb of Peshawar – and one Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) official namely Qamar Alam embraced martyrdom.The operation against the terrorists started on Monday night when the police were informed about the presence of militants in Sector 10 of Hayatabad’s Phase 7, and cross firing started between both parties.The basement and ground floor of the house have been cleared by the authorities; however, resistance is still being faced from the upper story.

Hazara community ends four-day long sit-in protest

QUETTA (DNA) – Hazara community members, protesting against the Hazarganji suicide bomb attack, ended their four-day-long sit-in on Monday night after receiving assurances from CM Balochistan Jam Kamal and State Minister for Interior Sheharyar Afridi.The Hazara community members were protesting at the Quetta’s Western Bypass in Quetta for the past four days against Hazarganji suicide bomb attack on Friday in which 21 persons were killed including 10 Hazaras and two Frontier Corps personnel.

Pakistan, Jordan agree to optimise bilateral military ties

RAWALPINDI , (DNA) – Pakistan and Jordan have agreed to optimise military to military ties, particularly in training and counter-terrorism domain.The decision came during a meeting between Jordan’s Chief of Staff Strategic Planning and Defence Resources Major General Nassar Al Athamneh and army chief General Qamar Bajwa at the GHQ in Rawalpindi on Monday, said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations.

Major changes expected in cabinet, PM Imran mulls appointing interior minister

Karachi: Fire breaks out at towel manufacturing factory

KARACHI (DNA) – Fire erupted at a towel manufacturing factory situated at the SITE Super Highway in Karachi on late Sunday night.The fire spread very quickly and also engulfed another nearby building. At least six fire brigade vehicles arrived at the spot and are taking part in operation to extinguish the blaze which is still raging.The cause of fire is not yet known. No loss of life was reported in the incident till filing of this report.
