Hazara community ends four-day long sit-in protest

QUETTA (DNA) – Hazara community members, protesting against the Hazarganji suicide bomb attack, ended their four-day-long sit-in on Monday night after receiving assurances from CM Balochistan Jam Kamal and State Minister for Interior Sheharyar Afridi.The Hazara community members were protesting at the Quetta’s Western Bypass in Quetta for the past four days against Hazarganji suicide bomb attack on Friday in which 21 persons were killed including 10 Hazaras and two Frontier Corps personnel.

Despite rainfall the protesters had continued their sit-in on Quetta s Western Bypass, demanding immediate arrest of the perpetrators of the Hazarganji attack and improved security measures for the community. Women and children were also part of the sit-in demanding action against the perpetrators of Hazara killings.

State Minister for Interior Sheharyar Afridi and PM’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfiqar Bukhari visited the Imambargah located in Hazara Town on Monday to condole with the bereaved family members.

Addressing to media after his meeting with Hazara community members, Afridi said that the federal government stands in solidarity with the Hazara community and was taking steps to end violence against them.
