Momina Mustehsan breaks silence on engagement bust-up

LAHORE, FEB 14, (DNA) – In a Snapchat post on Tuesday, singer Momina Mustehsan has apparently confirmed her break-up with Ali Naqvi whom she was engaged to last year in September.Investment banker Ali Naqvi and coke studio fame Mustehsan announced their engagement last year however, within months, there were rumours over their break-up but no official statement was made in this regard.In fact, the singer who also is an ambassador of Islamabad United of Pakistan Super League criticised media for turning ‘it into a joke and source of entertainment’.

Madonna granted permission to adopt twins from Malawi

MALAWI, FEB 08, (DNA) – Malawi’s High Court on Tuesday granted Madonna permission to adopt twins from the Southern African country, a judiciary spokesman said.The U.S. singer has previously adopted two children from Malawi, stirring anger among some Malawians who accused the government of allowing her to skirt laws that ban non-residents from adopting.Madonna was inside the courtroom when the approval ruling was delivered, judiciary spokesman Mlenga Mvula said. Reuters could not reach representatives for Madonna for comment.”Madonna has demostrated over the years that she has passion for Malawi and her children and therefore the court was satisfied and could not stop the adoption of the twins,” Titus Mvalo, a lawyer for Madonna in Malawi.

CSA set to launch new franchise-based T20 league

FEB 04, (DNA) – Cricket South Africa has confirmed its intention to launch a new Twenty20 league this year in which the eight franchise teams will be privately owned. After presenting its plans for the league to the ICC earlier in the week, CSA on Saturday(February 4) issued a tender notice worldwide inviting expressions of interest from potential team owners.While the exact dates of the competition are still to be confirmed, it is expected to begin in November and run into December.Bangladesh’s tour to South Africa will end on October 29, and although India’s tour dates are still to be finalised, it is understood that the first Test will not start before Boxing Day.That leaves a six-or-seven-week window for the new Twenty20 competition, and ensures that it will not clash with Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL).
