Govt held meetings with opposition to amend NAB law: Farogh Naseem

ISLAMABAD, MAY 02 (DNA) – Federal Minister of Law Farogh Naseem on Thursday said that the government will introduce amendments in laws governing the NAB and Criminal Procedure Code.Replying to a point of order in National Assembly session, the law minister said that the government has held several meetings with the opposition to reach a common ground over amendment in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law.

PML-N leaders in self imposed exile: Firdous Ashiq Awan

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan’s special assistant on information Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday said PTI government did not give NRO to anyone. She said PML-N leaders are in self imposed exile.The minister expressed that Shehbaz Sharif had left for London for medical treatment, however, he had failed to provide any information to the public related to his illness.Responding to a question over the changes in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), she said the changes were indicative of Shehbaz Sharif not returning to Pakistan.

China’s position on Kashmir issue clear, consistent: Spokesperson

BEIJING (DNA) – China on Wednesday reiterated that its position on the Kashmir issue was clear and consistent that it should be properly resolved through negotiations by the relevant parties.The approval of listing of Masood Azhar had nothing to do with the Kashmir issue and would not affect China’s position on the longstanding dispute, Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Geng Shuang said in response to a question asked.

Azerbaijan study center inaugurated at National Library

Korean embassy hands over 6 police vehicles to Balochistan govt

ISLAMABAD/QUETTA, MAY 02 (DNA) – A ceremony of handing over of 06 police vehicles from the Embassy of Korea to Balochistan Police held at the Chief Minister Balochistan’s office, on Thursday.The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Kwak Sung-kyu handed the keys of the vehicles to the Inspector General of Police Mr. Mohsin Hassan Butt.The Chief Minister Balochistan Mr. Jam Kamal Khan, was also present on the occasion.

Musharraf skips treason case hearing citing medical reasons ‘beyond control’

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Former military ruler retired Gen Pervez Musharraf on Thursday will not appear before the trial court in a case pertaining to charges of high treason due to medical reasons ‘beyond his control’.However, the court is scheduled to record his statement, under directives of the Supreme Court (SC), under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code to complete the treason trial.Meanwhile, he has requested the court to postpone the hearing.
