NA speaker, Deputy speaker condemn bomb blast outside Data Darbar

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Asad Qaiser, Speaker and Qasim Khan Suri, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly has condemned the Suicide Bomb Blast outside the Data Darbar Lahore, causing the Martyrdom of personals of Elite Force and civilians.In their separate statements, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker termed it barbaric and shameful act of terrorism. They said that the elements involved in such activities were the enemies of humanity and the country and wanted to disrupt the peace of the country.

CM Usman Buzdar orders inquiry into Lahore blast

LAHORE (DNA) Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Usman Buzdar has ordered inquiry into the blast that occurred near Data Darbar in Lahore today (Wednesday).According to details, the CM has summoned high-level meeting to discuss the law and order situation in the city while he has also cancelled his Sargodha and Sheikhupura visits. Earlier today, a suicide attack targeted a vehicle of police elite force in the immediate vicinity of Data Darbar in Lahore.

Pakistan re-elected as member of UNECOSOC with highest number of votes

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Pakistan has re-elected with the highest number of votes as a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UNECOSOC).Pakistan’s Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi said in secret balloting in the 54-member council, Pakistan secured 48 votes to retain its seat on 18-member Commission on Narcotic Drugs for four year term beginning from 1st January 2020.She said Pakistan has served the commission continuously since 2008, assisting the United Nations in supervising the application of international drug control treaties.

UN assures its support to address HIV outbreak in Larkana

ISLAMABAD, MAY 08 (DNA) – The United Nations in Pakistan is working closely with the federal and provincial governments to quickly respond to the HIV outbreak in Larkana, and to provide the necessary HIV treatment, care and support services to people living with HIV.“We stand ready to support the Government in strengthening the health system in Pakistan to cope with and prevent such tragedies from happening again,” said Mr Neil Buhne, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Pakistan.

Data Darbar Blast: At Least eight martyred, several injured

LAHORE, (DNA) – According to reports at least four security personnel have martyred in Lahore. A blast was reported near a police vehicle in Lahore’s Data Darbar on Wednesday morning.According to initial reports, the police’s elite force was made the target of the blast.“At least three to four police officials are injured,” officials add.The blast could not immediately be ascertained as a suicide blast. Rescue teams have reached the site of the blast along with a heavy convoy of police forces.

5th meeting of advisory council on foreign affairs held in Islamabad

We can’t interfere in court’s decision of sending Nawaz back: Yousaf Raza

MULTAN (DNA) – Former Premier Yousaf Raza Gillani said on Tuesday that it was court’s decision to send former Premier Nawaz Sharif back to jail and they cannot interfere in it.Talking to the media, Yousaf Raza said that inflation in petroleum products has affected the entire nation. “People are tired of inflation”, he further said. “Our party and the opposition are working on a strategy for it.” added Gillani.
