ISLAMABAD, SEPT 22 (DNA) – Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza on Sunday said that government is fully focused to address the outbreak of dengue virus in the country.Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Sunday, he said all necessary arrangements are being made regarding outbreak response and coordination among center and provinces has also been increased.Dr Zafar Mirza said more than ten thousand dengue patients have been identified through screening tests across the country, including 2363 from Punjab 2258 from Sindh 1814 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1772 from Balochistan.

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 21 (DNA) – The Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaiser left for Kazakhstan to participate in the 4th Meeting of the Speakers of Eurasian Countries’ Parliaments from September 23 – 25, 2019 in Nur Sultan (Astana).The Forum will be attended by the Heads of Parliaments from 84 European and Asian countries and the Heads of 16 International and Inter-Parliamentary Organizations.The Speaker National Assembly will present Pakistan’s stance towards Greater Eurasia and highlight the hindrances in development of the South Asian region particularly in wake of the ongoing Indian aggression in the Occupied Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and both sides of the Line of Control.

Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton to visit Pakistan in October
KENSINGTON PALACE, SEPT 20 (DNA) – The Royal couple of Prince William and Princess, Kate Middleton’s Pakistan trip confirmed, formal approval and dates announced for the visit.Prince William and Princess, Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit Pakistan on October 14 and stay in the country till October 18. The British High Commissioner confirmed the visit earlier today.A tweet from the official Twitter handle of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Royal Foundation, based at Kensington Palace, tweeted out confirmation of the visit, as well.
Metropolitan Commissioner inspects construction work in Karachi Zoo
KARACHI, SEPT 20 (DNA) – The construction of new fish house(Aquarium) will complete in the current year in the Karachi Zoo.The 2150 square feet Aquarium is about marine life and no such a big aquarium of marine life existed in any zoo of Pakistan which have 8 feet long and six feet wide glass boxes and this will be completed in three phases under the Annual Development Program (ADP) in the first phase building completed and in the second phase glass tank and other works and in the third phase machines and water pumps and other works.
Dengue situation continues to worsen in parts of country
LAHORE, SEPT 20 (DNA) – The dengue outbreak has continued to spread across the country as more cases have been surfaced in Lahore, Rawalpindi and other cities.According to details, the virus has been diagnosed in 348 people in Lahore while the tally has reached 1971 in Rawalpindi.As many as 11 patients are suffering from dengue in Bahalwalpur, 12 in Attock, 10 in Chakwal, six in Gujranwala, five in Muzaffargarh and 2073 in different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Dengue fever is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes and is a global public health concern.

Cricket Australia hopeful of touring Pakistan in 2022
SYDNEY (DNA) – Cricket Australia is hoping to tour Pakistan in 2022, but chief executive Kevin Roberts said security remains a concern and he would never jeopardise the safety of players.Most international teams have refused to visit the South Asian nation since the Sri Lankan team’s bus was attacked by gunmen during a Test in Lahore in March 2009, leaving six players injured. Six policemen and two civilians were killed.Roberts returned from Pakistan on Thursday after the first trip by a high-level Australian cricket delegation in more than a decade.
