ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari and former lawmaker Owais Muzaffar Tappi was arrested from Dubai, sources said on Tuesday.Muzaffar, alias Tappi, has been arrested for his involvement in a case pertaining to money laundering of billions through fictitious bank accounts.Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Omni Group’s Anwar Majeed and his son Abdul Ghani Majeed, former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairperson Lawai, Summit Bank Senior Vice-President Taha Raza are among those being investigated by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the anti-graft watchdog separately.

Pakistan retains right to use anything in self defence: ISPR
RAWALPINDI, APR 01 (DNA) – Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor on Monday said that the February 27 incident of Pakistan Army shooting down Indian aircraft is part of history now.In a statement issued by the ISPR, Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that no Pakistani F-16 was hit by Indian Air Force.The statement said, “Reference repeated Indian claims about shooting down of Pakistani F-16 by India and use of F16 in air battle on 27 February. The event of Feb 27 is part of history now. No Pakistani F16 was hit by Indian airforce.”

Saudi Aramco eclipses Apple as world’s top-earning company

BISP will continue to run under Ehsas program: Fawad Chaudhry

Pakistan calls for ensuring safety of UN peacekeepers
UNITED NATIONS: (DNA) – Expressing concern over the increasing number of fatalities suffered by the United Nations peacekeepers operating at hotspots around the world, Pakistan has underscored the need for ensuring not only their security but also their safety.“While security will remain a challenge and will vary from mission to mission, the safety side of the coin can be addressed by adequately equipping peacekeepers with training and necessary equipment, and better health facilities on the ground,” Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi said at a peacekeeping event co-hosted by Pakistan at the UN Headquarters in New York.
