Former PRCS chairman moves IHC over Abrar-ul-Haq’s appointment

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Former Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) chairman Saeed Elahi challenged the appointment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Abrar-ul-Haq in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).The petition states that Abrar-ul-Haq has been appointed as chairman for 3 years. “My term as chairman was same as Abrar-ul-Haq which will be completed in March 2020”, the petition read, adding that it makes the deployment of Abrarul Haq illegal.Saeed Elahi stated in the plea that he was not notified before his removal, and the court should revoke the decision. He added that it is also a matter of conflict as PTI leader is currently acting as the head of Sahara Foundation.

His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said to preside over Oman’s National Day parade

MUSCAT,  NOV  16   – His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will preside over the 49th National Day military parade, which will be held at Saeed bin Sultan Naval Base on Monday. “His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, will hold a military parade on Monday, 18 November 2019 at the Military Parade ground at Saeed bin Sultan Naval Base on the occasion of the country’s celebration of 49the National Day.”

Naval chief discusses bilateral cooperation with Romania

BUCHAREST, NOV 16 (DNA) – Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi held separate meetings with Romanian Chief of Defense Staff and Naval Commander during his official visit to Romania.The matters pertaining to mutual interest and promotion of naval cooperation were discussed in the meetings.The naval chief also highlighted the resolve of Pakistan Navy in ensuring peace and maritime security in the region.Later, the naval chief visited Damen Shipyard and held a meeting with its managing director.

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said on Saturday that this was the first sit-in in the history in which no bullets or sticks were used.The PML-Q referred to the recently concluded Azadi March sit-in demonstration led by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad.“Clerics and police were facing each other but no clash happened,” he pointed out.“Imran Khan has proved his quality of wisdom and comprehension [of political affairs] by not following the advice of inexperienced players,” he said, adding that “inexperienced players” had asked advised of implementing writ of the government.

 FAMTRIP 2019 team landed at Bali International Airport on October 21, 2019 and those of us visiting Bali for the first time were simply nonplused to see the décor and ambiance of the airport. Beautifully decorated walls; pathways littered with posters and statues depicting the lifestyle of Balinese people abruptly snatched our attention. It was my third time in Bali however the new comers could not resist themselves praising the grandeur of Bali airport. But it was just a beginning, I told them. Get ready for more adventures and eventful days ahead.

Opposition withdraws no-confidence motion against NA deputy speaker

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Opposition parties on Friday have decided to take back their no-confidence motion against National Assembly (NA) deputy speaker Qasim Suri.According to details, the announced was made after government representatives assured the opposition of withdrawing ordinances approved on November 7.Let it be known that the opposition had tabled no-confidence motion against Qasim Suri under Rule 12 (removal of the speaker or the deputy speaker) of the Rules and Procedure and Conduct of Business, 2007 and Article 53(7)(c) of the Constitution.
