Egypt condemns terrorist attack in Quetta

ISLAMABAD, APR 16 (DNA) – Egypt condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a market in the Pakistani city of Quetta, killing some 20 people and wounding 48 others. This was stated by Ministry of Foreign Affairs In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Arab Republic of Egypt on April 13th.They expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured, and stressed that the Egyptian government and people stand with the government and people of Pakistan against terrorism.=DNA

NAB chairman urges bureaucracy to implement state’s policies

LAHORE (DNA) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (rtd) Javed Iqbal on Tuesday barred NAB officials from handcuffing accused persons in the bureau’s custody.He addressed high ranked officials at Punjab’s Civil Secretariat where he emphasised on significance of bureaucracy and termed it “the backbone of the country.”“In the previous year, several mega corruption cases emerged in Punjab,” he said, while asking if bureaucracy does not take decisions, how the bureau could proceed [with the investigation process].

Peshawar: Five terrorists killed in operation, one official martyred

HAYATABAD (DNA) – Five terrorists were Tuesday killed in an operation at a house in Hayatabad – a suburb of Peshawar – and one Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) official namely Qamar Alam embraced martyrdom.The operation against the terrorists started on Monday night when the police were informed about the presence of militants in Sector 10 of Hayatabad’s Phase 7, and cross firing started between both parties.The basement and ground floor of the house have been cleared by the authorities; however, resistance is still being faced from the upper story.

Hazara community ends four-day long sit-in protest

QUETTA (DNA) – Hazara community members, protesting against the Hazarganji suicide bomb attack, ended their four-day-long sit-in on Monday night after receiving assurances from CM Balochistan Jam Kamal and State Minister for Interior Sheharyar Afridi.The Hazara community members were protesting at the Quetta’s Western Bypass in Quetta for the past four days against Hazarganji suicide bomb attack on Friday in which 21 persons were killed including 10 Hazaras and two Frontier Corps personnel.

Pakistan, Jordan agree to optimise bilateral military ties
