New Zealand, France announce bid to end violent extremism online

WELLINGTON:  (DNA) – New Zealand and France will bring together global leaders at a Paris summit next month aimed at stopping social media being used to organise and promote terrorism, the countries´ leaders announced Wednesday.Political leaders and tech company executives have been called to a meeting — to be co-chaired by New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and French President Emmanuel Macron — in Paris on May 15.They will be asked to commit to a pledge called the “Christchurch Call” designed to eliminate terrorist and violent extremist content online.

South Africa’s Markram stars as Hampshire beat Middlesex

Pakistan, Japan FMs agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation

TOKYO (DNA) – Addressing a joint news conference along with his Japanese counterpart in Tokyo on Tuesday evening, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan and Japan have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in various sectors including trade, investment, Information Technology, and agriculture.Shah Mahmood Qureshi said a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed under which Japan will import technical human resource of young Pakistanis.

Law Minister hints at bringing Presidential system

ISLAMABAD, APR 23 (DNA) – Federal Law Minister Farogh Naseem on Tuesday hinted at bringing Presidential system through a referendum.He expressed that an amendment would be required with a two third majority for this purpose. The Minister further said that currently no such change in law is under consideration adding that PM can get approval from a joint parliament session.

Pakistan team depart for England for ODI series, World Cup

LAHORE (DNA) – Pakistan cricket team left Lahore in the wee hours of Tuesday for England via Dubai to play ODI series against England and also participate in the ICC World CupPakistan will play a Twenty20 International and five ODIs against England before participating in ICC World Cup.A 17-member team included Sarfraz Ahmed (captain), Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Abid Ali, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Imad Wasim, Yasir Shah, Hasan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Junaid Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Hasnain. Muhammad Amir and Asif Ali were selected for England series.

NAB suggests to include Aleem Khan’s name in ECL

LAHORE (DNA) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday has suggested to place Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan’s name on Exit Control List (ECL).A letter has been sent to Interior Ministry after approval from NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal.The anti-corruption watchdog adopted the stance that inquires into assets beyond income and offshore companies cases are underway against the accused.It is to be mentioned here that Aleem Khan is on judicial remand till April 30.
