Aleem Khan’s judicial remand extended for 14 days

LAHORE (DNA) – An accountability court has on Tuesday extended Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan’s judicial remand for 14 days in assets beyond sources case.Duty Judge Syed Jawad ul Hassan conducted the hearing and inquired about the reference against the PTI leader. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor informed the court that final report has not been prepared yet, and it will be submitted after competition.

Pakistan continues efforts for success of Afghan peace process: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday said that Pakistan’s sincere efforts for success of Afghan peace process are continued.Talking to media, Qureshi lauded progress of Afghan peace process and hoped that seventh phase of Pak-Afghan negotiations will bear fruitful results.Earlier, United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad had met Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and deliberated on regional peace and Afghan reconciliation process.

Ready to normalise ties with Saudi Arabia: Iranian envoy

ISLAMABAD:  (DNA) – Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said on Monday that his country was prepared to cooperate in any efforts for normalisation of their relations with Saudi Arabia.The ambassador said during a meeting of the Pakistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group, which met at the  Parliament House under the chairmanship of its convener Senator Lt Gen (R) Abdul Qayyum. Senators, who participated in the discussion, included Waleed Iqbal, PTI; Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Jamote, PPP and Sajjad Hussain Turi.

PM discusses new technologies in Pakistan with Huawei founder

ISLAMABAD:  (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked Huawei for setting up their office in Pakistan and for its continued investments in the country.The prime minister has said this during a meeting with founder of Huawei Mr Ren Zhengfei. The two sides discussed the development of ICT technologies and how to enhance mutual cooperation in the future.The prime minister said that Huawei may strengthen its collaboration with Pakistan through local manufacturing, technology transfer in such fields as AI and contribute to Pakistan’s economy.

Nandipur case: Court to announce verdict on Babar Awan’s acquittal plea on May 6

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Accountability court on Tuesday has deferred verdict on acquittal plea of former law minister and senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Babar Awan in Nandipur Power Project reference.During the hearing, the judge said that the verdict will be announced on May 6.Earlier, seven accused including former Prime Minister (PM) Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Babar Awan in Nandipur Power Project reference.The other accused included former law secretary Riaz Kiyani, Masood Chishti, ex-consultant Shumaila Mahmood, former joint secretary Riaz Mahmood and ex-secretary Shahid Rafique.

Virgin Australia delays Boeing 737 MAX order

SYDNEY (DNA) – Virgin Australia said on Tuesday it had delayed delivery of its order of 48 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft over safety concerns, following two deadly crashes.The 737 MAX has been grounded worldwide since mid-March following the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines flight and an earlier Lion Air crash in Indonesia, which killed a total of 346 passengers and crew.Virgin Australia said in a statement that it was deferring delivery of its first batch of planes from November 2019 to July 2021.

Chairman NAB presents Annual Report-2018 to President

Will not change our stance on military courts: Bilawal Bhutto

‘Time is over’, DG ISPR warns PTM leadership

RAWALPINDI (DNA) – Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) on Monday said that Indian and Afghan spy agencies provided financial assistance to Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) to stage protest in Pakistan and provoke people against the country’s armed forces.Addressing a press conference on Monday, he raised a few questions briefly to PTM leadership, pinpointing dates and location where they were provided the funds, adding that no one can fight with the state. He also questioned the PTM if they were part of Pakistan or Afghanistan.
