Sherry Rehman rejects OGRA’s recommendation
KARACHI (DNA) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman on Saturday has rejected Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (OGRA) recommendation to increase gas prices by 235 percent.The PPP leader lashed out at the incumbent government and said that this decision will put additional burden of Rs175 billion on the people.She said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is forcing the opposition for protest with such kind of steps. The government has given Ramazan package of price hike to the people and asked them to stay calm, she added.
Doctors continue boycott of OPDs despite govt warning
PESHAWAR (DNA) – Turning a blind eye to the government’s warning of taking a stern action against them, the doctors amid a crippling strike in all health facilities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) continued the boycott of their duties in outpatient departments (OPDs) for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday.The situation worsened after all OPD services in all major hospitals all over the province were closed due to the doctors’ protest following a brawl between a senior doctor and the provincial minister health and his guards in the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) on Tuesday.

Pakistan briefs FATF on anti-money laundering, terror financing efforts
BEIJING (DNA) – The three-day dialogues between Pakistan and Financial Action Task Force (FATF) have ended on Friday in China.During the dialogues, Pakistani officials presented its arguments to the FATF officials about Islamabad’s efforts against money laundering and terror financing.The next round of talks will be held from June 17-20 in the United States of America.
Sharif family launders money through worker’s account, NAB report
LAHORE (DNA) – Today (May 17) the copy of investigation report regarding the money laundering case of Shehbaz Sharif family that was submitted in Accountability Court.According to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) report, Malik Maqsood worked at the Sharif-owned Chiniot Energy Office as a peon. Anti-graft watchdogs reported that transactions of more than Rs3 billion were made through his account.

Harish & Company case: NAB to file supplementary reference against Asif Zardari
ISLAMABAD (DNA) –The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has Friday decided to file a supplementary reference against former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Harish and Company case.The erstwhile president will be a nominated suspect in the reference. The NAB sources have revealed that the decision has been taken against Asif Ali Zardari for not cooperating in the investigation.
President Secretariat saves Rs 224 M by adopting austerity measures
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – An amount of Rs 224 million has been saved by the President Secretariat since the incumbent Government took over, as part of the drive to slash expenses by adopting austerity measures.This has been done under the directions of President Dr Arif Alvi to reduce expenses without affecting the efficiency of operations and quality of service delivery, said a press release issued by the President House on Thursday.The projected expenditure for the financial year 2018-19 is 6.1% less against the allocated budget, as opposed to the previous financial years that consistently suffered budget deficits.
