BAKU, — Preparation for parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan is at a high level, the member of the CIS observation mission Oleg Kuleba told.He said that he was in the Constituency and Precinct Election Commissions in six regions of Azerbaijan and met with the parliamentary candidates: “During the meetings, I have not encountered any complaints or negative views about the campaign. No complaints from candidates have been recorded related to each other”.

OSCE PA session to discuss protracted conflicts and elections in Azerbaijan

BAKU, FEB 01 – The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will hold its 19th Winter Meeting at the Hofburg Congress Centre in Vienna on 20-21 February 2020.The press service of the OSCE PA, that nearly 300 parliamentarians are foreseen to attend, as well as high-level representatives of governments, international organizations, and the OSCE.The opening session will feature keynote addresses by the President of the Austrian National Council Wolfgang Sobotka, as well as OSCE PA President George Tsereteli, the OSCE Albanian Chairmanship, and the OSCE Secretary-General.

Islamabad February 1: With the departure of Chairman FBR Shabbar Raza Zaidi looking imminent, the name of current Secretary Finance Naveed Kaman Baloch is fast emerging as the next possible Chairman FBR.Mr. Zaidi who had joined the position from the private sector in the year 2019 when PTI government shacked up its economic management team ahead of its signing credit facility with International Monetary Fund. Mr. Zaidi considered an expert on taxation was projected as someone who could transform the FBR and achieve targets of increasing revenues collection and bringing into tax nets those sectors that have traditionally avoided it.

Spanish ambassador says business climate of Pakistan improved

15-member Pak team to observe elections in Azerbaijan: Ali Alizada

ISLAMABAD, FEB 01 (DNA) – : Ambassador of Azerbaijan Ali Alizada has said relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan are from cordial to excellent adding upcoming parliamentary elections in his country would help further gear up progress and development in Azerbaijan.The ambassador expressed these views while talking to delegation of observers comprising media people and think-thank heading to Baku to observer the parliamentary elections being held on February 9.As many as 15 observers from Pakistan will travel to Baku for election observation. This is one of the biggest observers’ delegations, the ambassador told.

Saudi Arabia to stop funding mosques in foreign countries

RIYADH, JAN 31 — Former Saudi minister of justice, Mohammed Bin Abdul-Karim Issa, has announced that his country will stop funding mosques in foreign countries.According to the Swiss newspaper, Le Matin Dimanche, Saudi Arabia is to establish local administrative councils for each mosque, in cooperation with the local authorities, in order to hand over these mosques to “secure hands”.The minister added: “The time has come to hand over the Geneva Mosque to a Swiss administrative council that represents Muslims in the area. It should have an elected cleric.”

Armed forces day of Uzbekistan celebrated in style

The audiences were simply left spell-bound when an Uzbek female army officer sang famous Pakistani song “ Chanda karay salam, suraj karay salam”.
