Pakistan’s Sirbaz makes history at World’s 4th highest peak without Oxygen
ISLAMABAD, MAY 29 (DNA) – Serena Hotels held a press conference on 28th May 2019 to celebrate Sirbaz Khan, who became the first Pakistani to successfully climb the summit of the fourth world’s highest mountain –Mount Lhotse (8516 m)without using supplementary oxygen.He completed his summit on the 14th of May at 9:47 am. There were 12 climbers in total in the team, but this is the first time a Pakistani climber has been able to do this.
New Delhi: Security officials harass guests at Iftar by Pakistan High Commission
NEW DELHI (DNA) – India once again violated diplomatic etiquette as its security officials harassed guests at the Iftar dinner that was hosted by the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.The details suggest that the guests were unnecessarily interrogated by the intelligence agencies upon their arrival, and some of them were not even allowed to enter the high commission.
PM Imran to attend 14th OIC Summit in Makkah on May 31
ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Prime Minister Imran Khan will attend the 14th Summit of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Saudi Arabia’s city Makkah on May 31, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi confirmed on Tuesday.“The OIC session is very important to discuss the Middle East conflict and also the proposed Peace Plan to diffuse the situation,” Qureshi told reporters here prior to his departure for Jeddah to participate in the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting, preceding the summit-level meeting.

Electricity prices increased by 55 paisa per unit
ISLAMABAD, MAY 28 (DNA) – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved to increase electricity prices by 55 paisa per unit.The decision has been made under April’s fuel price adjustment. An additional burden of Rs5.20 billion will be put on the consumers after the hike in the prices.The NEPRA has told that the Re-Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) based power plants were not used in April.
Pakistan Railways to run five special trains on Eid-ul-Fitr
LAHORE, MAY 28 (DNA) – Pakistan Railways on Tuesday has announced to run five special trains for commuters on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.According to the spokesperson, booking for special Eid trains will commence from May 29. The passengers can get their tickets via online or reservation offices.As per schedule, first special train will depart from Karachi City at 1045 hours for Peshawar on Sunday, while the second one will leave Quetta for Rawalpindi at 1130 hours on the same day.
Repatriation of 320 Pakistani Nationals from Malaysia via Special Aircraft
ISLAMABAD, MAY 28 (DNA) – On the Directives of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, a special aircraft of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will bring home 320 Pakistani nationals lodged in Malaysian jails, but stuck due to cancellation of direct flights between the two countries.There are more than 320 Pakistani nationals in the Malaysian jails who have completed their prison/sentence term and were unable to be repatriated as direct flights got suspended in the last week of February 2019 owing to the regional situation. Most of these nationals were imprisoned due to expiry of visa or residence permits.
Uzbek companies urged to invest in CPEC economic zones
