KARACHI, FEB 03 (DNA) – President Dr. Arif Alvi on Monday said that the federal government is taking all possible measures to solve problems of the masses.Talking to Governor Sindh Imran Ismail at Governor House in Karachi, Dr. Arif Alvi has stressed the need for participation of all political stakeholders to resolve public issues. He said that the federal government wanted to take all the stakeholders on board.Current political situation, Centre-funded development projects in Sindh, economy and other issues also came under discussion in the meeting.

Turkish parliament to send large delegation to observe upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan

BAKU, FEB 03 — A large delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will observe the elections to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan to be held on February 9.5 members of the delegation represent the Turkey-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, while two of the MPs represent TURKPA.Head of the Turkey-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group Samil Ayrim said that the delegation would monitor the final preparations for the elections, as well as all processes relating to voting and announcement of the election results.“The observation mission will also make a statement on the elections.”

More than 60 OSCE PA members to observe elections in Azerbaijan

BAKU (DNA) -Upon the invitation of the Azerbaijani authorities, OSCE PA will send a delegation of more than 60 observers to monitor the snap parliamentary elections on February 9.

Report informs, citing the OSCE PA press service, that the delegation will monitor elections in Baku and several regions of Azerbaijan.

The OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office has appointed Artur Gerasymov (MP, Ukraine) as Special Coordinator for the OSCE short-term observer mission. Elona Hoxha-Gjebrea (MP, Albania) will head the OSCE PA delegation.

Pakistanis stranded in virus-hit China return as flight operations resume

ISLAMABAD, FEB 03 – Pakistanis stranded in China started arriving in Islamabad on Monday as the government resumed flight operations to the virus-hit country.Three flights carrying a total of 143 passengers arrived by noon.Pakistan, a day after the World Health Organisation declared the epidemic a global health emergency, had halted flights to and from China on Friday.“We are resuming flight operations with China; a China Southern Airlines flight with 145 passengers on board will land at 9am at Islamabad International Airport on Monday,” Abdul Sattar Khokhar, the senior joint secretary of aviation.
