Ambassador Ali Alizada recognizes CGSS’s role in enhancing Pak-Azerbaijan bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – Lt. Col. Khalid Taimur Akram (retd), Executive Director of Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS) visited the Embassy of Azerbaijan and met the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Ali Alizada.During the meeting both the dignitaries discussed a variety of issues of mutual interest.The Ambassador Ali Alizada acknowledged and appreciated the role of the CGSS team for being the international Observer in the Parliamentary elections of Azerbaijan.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Turkey today

Tashkent , FEB 19 –  President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is to visit the Republic of Turkey on February 19-20 at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.In accordance with the schedule, Ankara will host the highest-level meeting and the first session of the bilateral Strategic Cooperation Council chaired by the leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkey.The current state and prospects of interaction in the political, trade, economic, investment, financial, transport and communication, educational, cultural and humanitarian fields and other priority areas are expected to be discussed during the talks. The Presidents will also exchange views on regional and international issues.

Pakistani diplomats visit China’s Wuhan to meet trapped students

ISLAMABAD, FEB 18 (DNA) – A two-member team of diplomats from Pakistan Embassy in Beijing is currently visiting Wuhan city to meet with Pakistani students there.On the request of the Foreign Office, the Chinese Foreign Ministry granted special permission to the diplomats to visit Wuhan, by easing the travel restrictions.The special team met with the students of various Universities and assured them that the Government of Pakistan remained committed to promoting and protecting the welfare of students and easing their hardship.

Pakistan conducts successful flight test of air lunched cruise missile

Ambassador of Japan condoles death of Naeem-ul-Haque

ISLAMABAD, FEB 16 (DNA) – Matsuda Kuninori, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, has expressed his deepest condolences over the sad demise of Naeem-ul-Haque, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, who breathed his last after battling cancer.“It was very shocking to learn about the death of Mr. Haque. He was a great human being and a sincere friend of Japan and myself personally.I feel deeply saddened over his tragic death”, said Ambassador Matsuda in his condolence message on Sunday.

Ex-president Mutallibov calls Armenian PM’s statement on Azerbaijanis’ involvement in Khojaly genocide as ridiculous

BAKU, FEB 16 – — Azerbaijan’s former president Ayaz Mutallibov has dismissed Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement, calling it absurd.“Pashinyan’s statement, in which he claims that as if I said Azerbaijanis were involved in committing the Khojaly genocide is absurd. His remarks lack any real grounds,” he told.“In an interview in which Armenian PM refers, I stated that definitely, there was Armenian trace in Khojaly events. I noted that Armenia was trying to further destabilize the situation in Azerbaijan then. Furthermore, the local opposition was also interested in complicating the situation within the country. I have repeatedly stated that I did not say Azerbaijanis committed the Khojaly genocide. This is ridiculous.”

British HC welcomes Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) to Pakistan

Hungary supports sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan: Minister

BUDAPEST, FEB 15  —  “Hungary supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan,” said the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto at the 7th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Hungary Intergovernmental Commission held in Budapest.“This is our honest and fair position. Our relations are built on this very strategic point,” the minister added.The 7th meeting of Azerbaijan-Hungary intergovernmental commission was held in Budapest. The meeting featured the signing of the protocol on future directions of bilateral interaction between the two countries.

Engro, Shell sign agreement

ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (DNA): During a speech at the Pakistan Energy Reform conference in Islamabad today the CEO of Engro Elengy Terminal Ltd (EETL) Jahangir Piracha announced the signature of heads of agreement (HOA) with Excelerate and with Shell for the expansion of the Elengy Terminal in Port Qasim.The EETL terminal is a joint venture between Engro Corporation and RoyalVopak of the Netherlands. It is Pakistan’s first floating LNG importterminal, which began operations in March 2015 and is recognized as themost utilized FSRU worldwide. It currently fulfils as much as 15 percentof Pakistan’s  daily natural gas requirements. EETL has handled over 280LNG cargoes to date.
