QUETTA, MAR 04 (DNA) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday filed a reference against seven people including a coal company owner and mineral department officials of the Balochistan province over causing losses upto millions of rupees to the national exchequer.According to a NAB spokesman, the officials and employees of the mines and minerals development department in Balochistan province were found involved in corruption worth millions.
CGSS, University of Punjab sing MoU
ISLAMABAD, Mar 4 (DNA): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony was held between Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS), Islamabad and University of the Punjab, Lahore at Lahore. The MoU signing ceremony was followed by lunch.Both the institutions agreed to facilitate cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.It was decided that CGSS and University of the Punjab will work together to promote joint research projects on agreed fields for developing a sound cooperation in the future. Furthermore, both the institutions will work and explore opportunities to involve the academia in the multilateral fields.
US-Taliban Doha deal

The US and Taliban , in the presence of Afghan leadership and representatives of key stakeholders, struck an ‘historic’ deal in Doha on February 29, 2020 with a view to pulling the war-torn country out of chaos and turmoil. The country has been bearing the brunt of upheavals of various sorts for last four decades. Over two million people, most of them, innocent, have lost their lives while millions rendered homeless.
Commander Somali Air Force visits air headquarters
ISLAMABAD, MAR 04 (DNA) – Brigadier General Mohamed Sheikh Ali, Commander Somali Air Force visited Air Headquarters Islamabad. On his arrival, the distinguished guest was received by Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff Pakistan Air Force.He was presented with the Guard of Honour by a smartly turned out contingent of PAF. Later on, he called on the Air Chief in his office. Various matters of professional cooperation and mutual interest came under discussion during the meeting.
Corona virus cases increasing in France
PARIS (DNA) -There have been reports of rapid increase in Coronavirus cases in France over the last few days. The Embassy of Pakistan is closely monitoring the situation and is deeply concerned about the well-being of our community members. Especially, about those who reside in Oise region which contains the highest number of cases.The French authorities are taking appropriate measures to contain the spread of virus. In some of the affected areas, public schools have been closed and large public gatherings have been cancelled/postponed. To answer questions regarding Coronavirus a hotline ( 0800 130 000) has been established by the French Government.
Pakistan writes to England for Nawaz Sharif’s return
ISLAMABAD, MAR 03 (DNA) – Pakistan has on Tuesday written a letter to England for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s return as his bail has ended.According to details, the government has contacted England after consulting with the Punjab government.It has been stated in the letter that Nawaz Sharif should be sent back to Pakistan to serve his remaining jail term. The British government has been apprised of the current situation as well.

On February 29 this year the bilateral negotiations between the United States and the Taliban Movement ended with signing of the long-awaited «peace agreement» which can set start to intra-Afghan nationwide reconciliation. This became the first real advancement towards peace for over decades of war.The signed Agreement instills a certain hope on the eve of forthcoming meeting of the representatives of the government, political forces of Afghanistan and armed opposition.It is obvious that positive shifts, which are being observed, are related to the new atmosphere of mutual understanding that has been established in the region of Central Asia.

German ambassador opens exhibition “Worlds of Culture”
LAHORE, MAR 02 (DNA) – German Ambassador Bernhard Schlagheck on Monday has opened an exhibition of the German Federal Foreign Office named “Worlds of Culture” at the Lahore Fort together with Mr. Kamran Lashari, Director General of the Walled City of Lahore Authority and Naurin Ahmad-Zaki, Director of the Annemarie-Schimmel-Haus in Lahore.The exhibition displays 15 highlights of Germany’s Cultural Heritage Preservation Program worldwide.
