From 2021, ID cards to be issued instead of a biometric passport in Uzbekistan

TASHKENT,  MAR 8 –  As part of the implementation of previously adopted decisions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on modernization of the existing biometric passport system of the country, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures to introduce a registration system and issuing identification ID cards in the Republic of Uzbekistan” on 6 March. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.

‘Blacklisted’ PTM leaders stopped from leaving country

ISLAMABAD, Mar 08 (DNA): Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has stopped‘blacklisted’ Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) leaders Mohsin Dawar andAli Wazir to leave for Kabul.The action was taken by FIA officials at Islamabad InternationalAirlines where the PTM leaders, Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, were readyto depart for Afghanistan’s capital Kabul through a foreign airlineflight, RQ-928.Dawar and Wazir have been offloaded from the flight due to the inclusionof their names in the blacklist and exit control list (ECL). Sourcessaid that the leaders engaged in a verbal fight with the FIA staffmembers at the airport.

Pakistan embassy in Tajikistan organises cultural festival

PTI govt committed to provide all basic rights to women: Zartaj Gul

OIC Special Envoy for Kashmir concludes visit to Pakistan

Lahore Qalandars sail to 8-wicket victory over Quetta Gladiators in PSL match

LAHORE, MAR 7 –  Lahore Qalandars cruised to an eight-wicket win against Quetta Gladiators in their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 fixture at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.The Qalandars, who were chasing an easy target of 99 runs set by the Gladiators, finished at 100-2 with 49 balls remaining.Fakhar Zaman was bowled out by Mohammad Nawaz in the third over while skipper Sohail Akhtar was stumped by his Gladiators counterpart Sarfaraz Ahmed off Nawaz in the fifth over.

President gives instructions on investment projects in Tashkent city

TASHKENT, MAR 7 – President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting to discuss investment projects that are planned to be implemented in the city of Tashkent.In 2020-2022, it is planned to implement 762 projects worth US$9.88 billion in Tashkent, including 122 projects under the state and 640 projects under regional investment programs.About 242 projects worth US$1.89 billion are planned to be implemented in industry, 337 projects worth US$4.99 billion in the service sector. In housing construction, it is planned to build 183 objects for US$3.33 billion.
