Pakistan embassy celebrates defence & Kashmir solidarity day in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, SEPT 07 (DNA) – The Defence Day assumed special significance this year as it was celebrated in solidarity with Kashmiri brothers and sisters for the first time in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, after the opening of Defence Wing in Pakistan embassy last year.Ambassador of Pakistan Imran Haider hosted a reception where Tajikistan’s Deputy Defence Minister Major-General Mahmadzoda Suhrob Talbak was the chief guest. Several high-ranking Tajik civil and military officials, parliamentarians, ambassadors, academicians, members of the diplomatic corps, defence & military attaches, media persons and members of Pakistani community attended the reception.

US CENTCOM commander General McKenzie arrives in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 07 (DNA) – United States Central Command (US CENTCOM) commander General Kenneth McKenzie Jr arrived in Islamabad on Saturday along with his 17-member delegation.According to sources, General McKenzie during his visit to the country will hold important meetings with civil and military leadership.Earlier this year, General McKenzie met with Prime Minister Imran Khan where the two dignitaries discussed the Pak-US relations and the ongoing Afghan peace talks, among other matters.

Arshad Malik video case: FIA clears Nasir Janjua, Mahar Ghulam Jilani Khurram Yousaf

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – In another major breakthrough in the former accountability court judge Arshad Malik’s video scandal case, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday cleared Nasir Janjua, Mahar Ghulam Jilani and Khurram Yousaf, who had been sent on a five-day physical remand for further investigation into the case.In an investigation report, the FIA has determined that no evidence was found against the three suspects and the court could discharge them from custody if it wants to.

FM Qureshi apprises EU Human Rights envoy on Kashmir situation

LAHORE (DNA) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday called European Union (EU) Special Representative for Human Rights Eamon Gilmore and apprised him about the serious human rights abuses in the occupied Kashmir.FM Qureshi expressed that Pakistan views its relations with the EU in high regards. “The people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been facing the worst curfew in the history of valley ever since August 5. India’s unilateral and unconstitutional measures are a violation of international law and the United Nations (UN) resolutions”, he added.

Fawad Ch reacts as India’s Chandrayaan-2 moon mission fails miserably

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Pakistani Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday took a jibe at the failed Indian moon mission, terming the Indian spacecraft as a ‘toy’ and stated that the spacecraft must have landed in Mumbai.The minister took to Twitter in a series of tweets, and advised the Indian users on the social media and others to sleep instead of waiting for an announcement from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) about the moon mission.

Pak community of France observed Defence day in solidarity with Kashmiris

Pak-China-Afghanistan trilateral dialogues on Saturday

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Trilateral dialogues between Pakistan, China and Afghanistan will be held in Federal capital on Saturday.According to a statement issued by the foreign office, Pakistani delegation would be led by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chinese delegation would be led by Wang Xi.Sources added that national security advisor Hamdullah will attend the meeting on his behalf.Political relations, peace process and security cooperation will be the agenda of the dialogues, while terrorism and development cooperation will also the agenda of the talks.
