Pakistans’s future lies in technology and youth empowerment: ICCI President

ISLAMABAD, MAY 9 /DNA/ – President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Sardar Tahir Mehmood, has said that Pakistan’s youth possess immense potential to drive the country towards digital transformation, economic stability, and global recognition through innovation and technology.

He expressed these views while addressing the “AWS Student Community Day Islamabad” held at the ICCI Auditorium in collaboration with AWS Cloud Clubs and the International Islamic University Islamabad.

Addressing students, faculty members, and IT professionals, Sardar Tahir Mehmood said the enthusiasm and talent of the youth reflected a bright future for Pakistan. He emphasized that the world was rapidly moving towards cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and data-driven economies, adding that Pakistan must become a creator and exporter of technology rather than merely a consumer.

He stated that ICCI strongly believed in strengthening academia-industry linkages and would continue supporting youth-focused initiatives, startups, and platforms that connect students with practical industry exposure.

The ICCI President observed that events like AWS Student Community Day encouraged innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development among students. He urged the youth to think big, innovate boldly, and play their role in building a digitally empowered Pakistan.

Sardar Tahir Mehmood appreciated the efforts of the organizers, including Sardar Huzaifa, Captain Students Community at the International Islamic University Islamabad, Chaudhry Javed Iqbal, Vice Chairman Computer Hardware Association of Pakistan, Abrar ul Haque, Executive Director Computer Hardware Association of Pakistan, Dr. Muhammad Usman, Convener ICCI Software Development Committee, and Aizaz Mohammad, Convener ICCI Telecom and Computer Hardware Committee for successfully organizing the event.

Earlier, Aizaz thanked the ICCI leadership, especially President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, for extending full support in organizing the youth-focused technology event.
