KARACHI, JAN 16 (DNA) — Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has threatened to stage citywide protests if local government election results are withheld.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Monday, the JI leader said that 18 hours have been passed but the results have not been released, adding that attempts were being made to “manipulate” them.

He claimed that the party has all the options on the table if the results were delayed. He lauded the efforts of party workers and said that the JI has put in a lot of effort during preparation for the local body elections. He also alleged that the results were forcibly changed in some union councils. = DNA
