This year, within the framework of the project “Development of entrepreneurship and self-employment in villages” in Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Sheki, Zagatala, Gakh, Lankaran, Astara, and Lerik districts with high tourism potential, new business entities in the field of rural tourism will be created.
Report informs about this with reference to the Agency for the Development of Small and Medium Business (SME) under the Ministry of Economy.
The project is being implemented with the support of the State Agency for Tourism and the State Agency for Employment under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to create 50 more business entities in these areas. After selection, suitable candidates will be involved in vocational training to acquire relevant knowledge in the field of tourism and services.

The project was first implemented in the villages of Buynuz, Khanagakh, Topchu, Tazakand, Sumaganli, and in Lahich settlement of Ismayilli District. In Ismayilli, 15 rural guesthouses were set up, about 300 residents were informed about the opportunities for entrepreneurship and self-employment. This provided employment for about 40 women and young people from 15 families. Rural guest houses, which provide accommodation services for local and foreign tourists, contribute to the growth of incomes of residents and ensure their employment, the development of entrepreneurship in the sector.
