African envoys gather to say goodbye to Tunisian colleague

ISLAMABAD, JUL 23 (DNA) – Ambassador of Morocco Mohamed Karmoune hosted a farewell dinner for the outgoing Dean of the African Group Adel Elarbi, Ambassador of Tunisia.Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the African group and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the event.Prior to formal reception, the envoys of the African group held a meeting to decide about the new Dean of the African Group.

High Commissioner of Kenay Dr. Julius Bitok was nominated for the post of Dean of the African group, being the senior most diplomat among the African group.

Tunisian ambassador is leaving Pakistan after completing his four year term in Pakistan. He will leave on July 31.

His African group colleagues presented him a souvenir and wished him best of luck in his future endeavours.

Pakistan and African countries enjoy cordial relations. The recently announced “Look Africa” policy of Pakistan government in fact has further brought closer both sides.

The outgoing Tunisian ambassador Adel Elarbi apart from promoting bilateral relations between Tunisia and Pakistan, also contributed significantly towards promotion and strengthening of Pakistan’s relations with the African countries.=DNA
