ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Saturday took to Twitter, and suggested government jobs of grade 14-16 to prayer leaders (imam masjid).He said that instead of allocating resources to a specific group, the state should provide grade 14-16 jobs to all mosque clerics.He maintained that the step would end the monopoly of a particular group and would unfold discipline. He stated that the provincial ministers should fulfill their responsibilities in this regard.Earlier, Fawad had constituted a five-member committee to prepare a lunar calendar for the next five years.According to a notification issued by the Ministry, the committee will comprise of representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, COMSATS University of Islamabad, two officials of the meteorology department and Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).The committee would determine the exact dates of Ramazan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram for the next five years with 100 percent accuracy through technology.The minister said that the committee has been formed to end disputes related to crescent sightings. He had said that it was not wise to spend Rs3.6 to 4 million on sighting of the moon.
