KARACHI (DNA) – Minister for National Health Aamir Mehmood Kiani on Saturday wrote a letter to the Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP), directing it to conduct an audit of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) from the period 2013-18.According to the minister, the move would assist regulate inexpensive medicines and the quality of pharmaceutical drugs.The letter further directs the AGP to find whether costs of drugs were determined according to the Law and relevant rules and regulations in the same period.The health minister emphasised on transparency in all departments operating under the DRAP for maintaining quality and standard of drugs.The letter maintained that the audit and transparency would revive public trust in the DRAP.
