MUMBAI, APR 11 (DNA) – The online series website Netflix in collaboration with Condé Nast Entertainment is about to launch a reality show about cricket in India, media reports said. The untitled project will highlight the Mumbai Indians known to be the most successful team in the Indian premier league (IPL). The eight-episode series will shadow the Mumbai squad as they compete to win for the fourth consecutive time in what is known to be the second most watched sport in the world.
The show will provide cricket fans an incredible experience, a sneak peek inside the richest tournament in cricket and showcasing exclusive behind the scene footage.
The series will spend time with players in the 2018 IPL season on and off the field, on the road and at home, to go deep into the cricketing values and traditions that make the Mumbai the most followed team globally, all leading up to the IPL18 final.
Produced by Condé Nast Entertainment the show will be available exclusively on Netflix to over 117 million members in 190 countries around the world.
Netflix had expanded its streaming in India since January 2016 and sees India’s 1.3 billion residents and their 300 million smartphone users as their next great hope for global expansion.
