ISLAMABAD, FEB 06 (DNA) -Mr. Lars-Hjalmar Wide, Ambassador of Sweden has said his country wished a peaceful transition of power from one civilian government to another through elections.He said this while giving an exclusive interview to DNA here on Wednesday. The Swedish ambassador said elections were the only means for any change as no one would allow and accept any change facilitated by undemocratic forces.
Pakistan’s politics has taken a dramatic turn at a juncture when general elections are already around the corner. Emergence of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has ostensibly caused ripples in the already charged waters of Pakistan politics giving birth to new controversies and conspiracy theories, whether elections will take place on time or not. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s sudden appearance of course is not without purpose.Qadri’s major thrust seems to be on election reforms and holding of upcoming elections under a caretaker set up that is free from all sorts of pressures and which do not take sides with any political party.

ISLAMABAD, JAN 06 (DNA) – Ms. Cecilie Landsverk Ambassador of Norway to Pakistan has said religious tolerance in Norway was at its best and all minorities were enjoying absolute independence in terms of exercise of their religion as well as cultural practices. She said this while giving an exclusive interview to Diplomatic News Agency (DNA).
The D-8 Summit held in Islamabad on November 22, 2012 adopted the Charter, Global Vision and Islamabad Declaration, which would go a long way in the history of the organization. Leaders from D-8 in their statements felicitated Pakistan on assuming the chairmanship and reposed their confidence in Pakistan’s leadership. In a special ceremony following the Summit meeting, the leaders witnessed signing of the Charter by their Foreign Ministers, which in itself was a landmark event not only in the history of D-8 but for Pakistan as well.
Ambassador of Romania Talks to DNA and Centreline
I feel really happy to announce and share with your readers the information that there will soon be direct flights from Romania and Pakistan. I am confident we will have these flights in the year 2013. Let me tell you that a private group of Romanian businessmen has decided to launch direct flights. Initially flights will be operated from Lahore to Bucharest twice a week but this frequency can surely be increased keeping in view the load of passengers.

Turkish EU membership dates back to 60s when it made serious attempts to become member of the European Union however Turkey’s application was formally accepted in 1999 during the Helsinki EU summit. Since then Ankara is hectically engaged with the EU on concluding various chapters. Many of them have already been concluded.
