Killing media people in Pakistan has become order of the day. Just recently a journalist Malik Mumtaz was killed in Miranshah. It was of course not the first incident. As a matter of fact many journalists, or to be more specific 51 journalists have so far been killed in Pakistan in last ten years or so. The number is quite alarming and the disturbing fact is that this number is constantly on the rise. Despite government tall claims nothing has been done so far to provide protection to the messengers.

ISLAMABAD, MARCH 05 (DNA) Mr. Roumen Pirontchev Ambassador of Bulgaria has said his country offered huge business opportunities to Pakistani investors adding being a key European Union country, Bulgaria had a lot to offer to Pakistan. He made these remarks while giving an interview to Diplomatic News Agency (DNA) and Centreliney. Roumen Pirontchev further said Bulgaria has always been present in Pakistan. The diplomatic relations between two countries were established in 1965 and the Bulgarian Embassy was opened in 1968. Here is full text of interview.

Sweden Wishes Peaceful Political Transition In Pakistan:Wide

ISLAMABAD, FEB 06 (DNA) -Mr. Lars-Hjalmar Wide, Ambassador of Sweden has said his country wished a peaceful transition of power from one civilian government to another through elections.He said this while giving an exclusive interview to DNA here on Wednesday. The Swedish ambassador said elections were the only means for any change as no one would allow and accept any change facilitated by undemocratic forces.

D-8 conference: A milestone

The D-8 Summit held in Islamabad on November 22, 2012 adopted the Charter, Global Vision and Islamabad Declaration, which would go a long way in the history of the organization. Leaders from D-8 in their statements felicitated Pakistan on assuming the chairmanship and reposed their confidence in Pakistan’s leadership. In a special ceremony following the Summit meeting, the leaders witnessed signing of the Charter by their Foreign Ministers, which in itself was a landmark event not only in the history of D-8 but for Pakistan as well.
