President urges need to train youth in science, tech sectors

CPEC will further strengthen Pakistan-China ties, says FM Qureshi

Saudi Arabia pledges $500 million in support for UN humanitarian plan for Yemen

JEDDAH: (DNA) –  Saudi Arabia has pledged $500 million to finance the United Nations Humanitarian Response Plan for Yemen, it was announced on Tuesday.The announcement was made during a Saudi cabinet meeting headed by King Salman.Following the meeting, Information Minister Turki Abdullah Al-Shabana said in a statement that the Kingdom’s donation was in addition to the $500 million declared earlier this year for a food aid programme for Yemen called the ‘Imdad’ initiative.

44 belonging to banned organisations arrested: Shehryar Afridi

ISLAMABAD: (DNA) – Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Tuesday said 44 persons belonging to banned organisations had been taken into custody as per the directives of National Security Committee (NSC).Addressing a news conference in Islamabad along with Secretary Interior Major (retd.) Azam Suleman Khan, Afridi said that actions were being taken against all proscribed outfits without any discrimination.
